My name is Chris Larson and this is my first attempt at creating a web page, so please bear with me. I call myself a
"harried genealogist" because, as Jim Croce so truly said, "there never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do
once youve found them." Im always promising genealogical information to people, then knocking myself out to pull it together
in coherent form. I figure if I put my efforts into a web site, then I can refer people to it and stop being so harried. Wishful
thinking, I know, but worth a try. :-)
The Norwegian Community of Havana and Aurora Townships, Steele County, Minnesota
Much of my research has focused on the community of Norwegian immigrants in Havana and Aurora Townships, Steele
County, Minnesota. Most of them came from Lrdal kommune in Sogn og Fjordane fylke. In this section you will find genealogical information about several of the families as well as transcriptions of the two cemeteries associated with the community.
Immigrant Families about Whom I Have Information
Here you will find a list of immigrant families about whom I have information, including ancestors from Norway, Sweden, Germany, England, Scotland, and Ireland.
My Gedcom
I have moved my Gedcom to the WorldConnect project, available through RootsWeb and also through Ancestry.com as the Ancestry World Tree. I am very pleased at the speed with which I can upload to them, and the various options for displaying the information are wonderful! And no, no one is paying me to say this.
My Links Pages
Click here for my links page, an eclectic collection of personal interests and things useful in my work at the library.
My Dog Pages
These pages are only half done, but they include tributes to my beloved dog Tessa, who died October 1, 1999, and my current dog, Tramp. |
