The NEW PROSPECT REFORMED CHURCH CEMETERY,
Rte. 52
Pine Bush, Ulster Co., New York
Pine Bush is in two counties, the eastern portion is in Orange Co., and the western portion in Ulster Co., NY.

Note: The cemetery consists of about 4 acres and is well kept and easy to walk. These photos and transcriptions are from my initial visit, Dec. 28, 2001, I will be returning in the next few months to photograph the many very old graves here.

CODDINGTON - DECKER William H. Coddington, 1851 - 1911. His Wife, Margaret O. [ or D] Decker, 1855 - 1932. Located near driveway entrance on right.

DEYO - DUBOIS Elizabeth Devo, wife of Henry Dubois, Died June 19th 1852, Aged 69 years, 5 mos., 6 days. [Email from her gr-gr-granddaughter, J. France [email: [email protected]] states: "She was b. Jan 13, 1783 and d. Jun 19, 1852, married to Henry M. DuBois b. Aug 1, 1774, d. Dec 11, 1844. Her parents were Jonathan Deyo b. Dec. 29, 1745 d. Mar 8, 1833 and Mary Le Fevre. (Both of her parents are buried in this same cemetery).]

FALCONER - VAN VLECK Elizabeth Falconer, wife of Rev'd. John Van Vleck, Born March 1st 1831, Died Dec. 24, 1860.

HENRY James A. Henry, Born July 8, 1835, Died Nov. 1865. "... son & loving brother .....To ? country in defence of ...........he died praising God." Sons Of ? Military Star, 1860 - 1865. See Inscription enlarged.

HOGAN James J., 1907 - 1969; His Wife, Agnes B. Hogan, February 06, 1908 [from Ireland] - March 06, 2000. [Children, James ("Whitey"), Eileen, Frances, Elixabeth and Clair]. Located left of driveway, northernmost part of cemetery (at Dec., 2001).

KELLNER George, 1948 - 1968. Steven, 1948 - 1968. "Our Beloved Sons and Brothers". On north side of northern most driveway off New Prospect Road. This side of stone faces north.

MOULE In memory of Jane, wife of James Moule, who died Aug. 7, 1833, aged 55 years & 10 ms.

General View Taken in back of church, I was facing southeast; Rte. 52 runs in front of building on right, which is the Sunday School building [RVH]. The MOULE Mounment is shown rear left.

PENNY Cornelius N. Penny, Born Aug. 8, 1829; Died Dec. 29, 1913.

RAIN Stone on right: Archabald? Rain, Died _2, 1880, Aged ?. Stone on left: ? wife of ? Died Oct. 25, 1888, Aged ?75 years.

ROSECRANS Jane Rosecrans.

RUSSELL Edward J. Russell, Sr., 1908 - 1994. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Educator and Sportsman. [There is an E.J. Russell public school, in Pine Bush, NY, just east of this cemetery]. Located in north part of new section on north side of northern-most driveway.

The Russell Monument, behind and left of E.J. Russell's stone. New Prospect road in left rear.

SCHOONMAKER Died Mar. 21, 1851, Jacob, son of Methuselah & Jemima Schoonmaker, aged 33 y'rs. 11 mo. & 27 d's.

VAN DERMARK In memory of Sally M., wife of Benjamin Van Dermark, who died Oct. 18, 1851, aged 42.

VAN DEMARK [sic], Sarah, wife of Benjamin Van Dermark - No photo.

VAN KEUREN Henry L. Van Keuren, 1810 - 1874. Eleanor Van Keuren, His Wife, 1817 - 1894. Our Alice, 1858 - 1881. New Prospect church, in rear, taken from east side of church.

VAN VLECK Cornelia, Daughter of John & Elisabeth Van Vleck. Born May 18, 1856, Died April 18, 1879.
