Wequetequock Cemetery - in Stonnington,Conn.

This cemetery is located on the eastern side of (Wickety-quock) Cove. It is noted as being the oldest cemetery in Stonington, and is in very good condition.

To get there take Route 1, east from Stonington, west from Pawatuck. When you reach the head of the cove, at the stop light, turn on to Greenhaven rd, then take an immediate right onto Palmer rd. the yard is on your left.

This is the oldest cemetery in Stonington and is in very good condition. There is a large founders monument located near the entrance, with some general information inscribed about Chesebrough, Palmer, Minor, Stanton, all of whom I descend (to Palmer from three of his children). We visited here on a very rainy and cold day, so I did not get to spend as much time there as I would have liked. Most of the photos taken that day are dark, and the rain made the fading inscriptions on the stones even harder to read and capture. I plan on going back to the area again to get some people I missed, and will make another stop here on a sunny day.
