1796 MARRIAGE BOND
PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, VIRGINIA


Know all men by these presents

That we, Terrel Morgan and John Hill

are held and firmly bound until His Excellency, Robert Brook, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in one hundred and fifty Dollars ($150) to be paid to our said Governor and his successors.

To the which payment will and to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals and dated

this 15th day of October 1796


The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Terrel Morgan and Jane Hill, spinster daughter of John Hill.

If there be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, then this obligation to be Void, else to remain in full force and virtue.
