TO THE CITIZENS OF


LYNCHBURG AND CAMPBELL CO.


LYNCHBURG, February 28th, 1865.

The undersigned, by authority of the Commissary General, solicit IMMEDIATE supplies for the army of BACON, PORK, BEEF, FLOUR, WHEAT, CORN, CORN MEAL, BEANS, PEAS, and DRIED FRUIT--either as donations, loans, or sales. The department gives assurance that loans will be returned in kind as soon as practicable, and all purchases will be paid for in Government Certificates which, by a recent and special act of Congress, are redeemable in taxes.

The undersigned have full authority to fix the prices of all articles delivered in their district, which will be determined in reference to the fair market and not schedule rates. They are prepared to make contracts for future as well as present deliveries.

OUR ARMY IS IN WANT - Nothing furhter need be said to a Virginian.
