THE MEN and WOMEN OF AVERY COUNTY, North Carolina

The following information on Avery County is provided by Leslie Ward. We have not extracted the Ollis information, but provided the entire listings. A lot of the surnames were married into the Ollis Family. Avery County, North Carolina plays a very important part in the history and heritage of the Boston Ollis family.

We accept no responsibility for any errors in translations, spelling, omissions, etc.

Leslie we thank you so very much.

History of Avery County North Carolina by Horton Cooper, First Printing 1964, Biltmore Press, 9 Valley Street, Asheville, N. C. (no ISBN). I believe this book is currently out of print.

Attached are three files, the veterans of World War I, World War II, and the "Anthology of Death." This last one is short but very interesting. This is a list of entries from Jacob "Uncle Jake" Carpenter's notebook. The spelling is atrocious and you'll love the information. Jacob Carpenter lived from about 1833 until 1920.
