(line 88), donated this list for its transcription along with an article re
this orphanage and her transcription of her Grandfather's personal letters
which he wrote to family during the time spent at this orphanage. In his
letters, Alfred Waibel mentions the names of a number of children listed
above as well as a few that did not arrive at the orphanage until after
the 1900 census. Please see the notes and Special Postscript below.

superscripted notation in the original census. It is possible that
the notation is "III", or "3rd" - [hard to read] in reference to #31
i.e., "the third". Without the notation, this surname looks like:
