Little is known of the brief life of Joseph M. "Joe" Zinn. Court clerks have found no record of his marriage to Hettie Jones in either Lewis or Marion County, Missouri, though it seems the couple married sometime around 1876. No picture exists of Joe. Family tradition [recounted by Thelma Lee Zinn Foster Wolfe] is that he died at Honey Grove in September 1891. It is a curious fact, corroborated by independent sources, that Hettie Jones Zinn rarely (if ever) spoke of her husband. Perhaps the recollection was too painful to bear. It is also curious that no gravesite has ever been located for Joseph Zinn in Fannin County [though admittedly, there are a large number of unmarked graves in area cemeteries]. In the 1900 U.S. Federal Census, Hettie Jones Zinn is clearly identified as a widow.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION TO THIS POINT! :-)
