DARRALL Family:
William DARRALL, born in 1846, was raised by his grandparents in Holywell Lane, Dawley, Shropshire, after the death of his father in 1847. In 1883 William now married to Elizabeth (nee MARTIN) whose parents also lived in the same lane, together with six children, Eliza, Mary, Lucy, Benjamin, Harry and William left England on the S.S. British King for the voyage to New Zealand where they arrived three days before Christmas. The family lived in Mitcheltown, a suburb of Wellington where the four younger children attended Mount Cook School. Eliza married Harry Octavins FOWLES of Fielding in 1889 (they lived at Fielding and Masterton). Mary married Jesse HARLEN of Wellington in 1887 (they lived at Wellington). Lucy drowned in 1888 at Wellington. Benjamin married Margaret Edith MENZIES in 1906 (they lived at Wellington). Harry married Beatrice Evelyn DUNCAN (they lived at Wellington. Levin and Hamilton).
