HUNTER family:
Arthur and Elizabeth Hunter left the Shetlands because they had been evicted from their farm by the Scottish family called the Lairds, who effectively controlled the island at that time, who planned to convert the it into a mutton farm. The Hunters went to London and decided to migrate to one of the colonies. As they had heard news of the gold strikes in New Zealand they decided to go there.
