John MOHR:
The "Telegraph" which arrived in Auckland on 6th July 1863 included my Great, Great, Great Grandfather John Mohr. John was born in Essen, Germany and came out to New Zealand to fight in the Maori wars with Mauku Forest Rifles (Later serving under Von Tempsky in the Forrest Rangers, and 2nd Waikato Regiment). He married Hannah Elizabeth Leigh in 1871.He worked as a baker around the Waikato and died at Auckland in April 1917. If you have a connection with this family or would like to know more please contact Sam Hodder.
