I am from Richard and Rebecca's line. Their son, Thomas Pace married Amy ! That is his wife's name on his will. MANY of our cousins who are on this line want to make her a BOYKIN,( for the Charlemagne lineage) and have been approved for membership in Magne Charta and Charesmagne Societies, I do hope the organizations have wised up, by now.
To go on with my line, Thomas and Amy's son, Nathaniel m. Midred/Mildredge Boykin over in Camden area, SC. This Boykin lady has been confused with her mother-in-law by the Boykin's and the Paces books have added to the problem.
A Dr. Boykin in Camden wrote a book on his family back in the 1800's saying "William and Elizabeth Boykin's only daughter was named AMELIA and she married THOMAS PACE," the author says they moved to Ga. and he does know anything about them. This book is one proof used to make Amy Pace wife of Thomas . Another Proof is the will of Francis Boykin in the same NC county as Thomas and Amy, Northampton Co. NC. It is thought Amy was Francis Boykin's daughter,(an she could have been), no proof that she was. But, Thomas' wife couldn't have been the daughter of William and Elizabeth Boykin over in Camden, SC. This in the Pace Bulletin # 22. There it shows that Mildred is the daughter of Wm. and proof that she was not old enough to have children by Thomas. If , Dr. Boykin's book were true the lady would have lived to be 135.
I have a paper I have put together with all my proofs to show that Thomas Pace's wife was Amy and Nathaniel Pace's wife was Midred/Mildredge BOYKIN. Nathaniel's Bible record is in Noble Pace's book, the Nathaniel in the bible record above it, is Nathaniel and Mildred's grandson, also my line.
I have given this information to the Pace Society people, several years ago, they have ignored it.If you will ck the red and the green books you will see they keep"tacking" Boykin on to AMY 's name, even tho' there is mention in one of the book that it couldn't be proved.

Dear Roy, I am delighted to see others challenging the many erroneous tidbits that have been passed along through the generations of Paces. My line goes back to Richard and Isabella, but an error exists in the present lineage given of Thomas Pace and Amelia ?. Both Pace and Boykin descendants have assumed that this Amelia was a Boykin and have shown her parents to be William Boykin and Elizabeth Bryant of Kershaw Co. S. C. This can't be for they only had one daughter, Mildred or Mildridge, and she married Nathaniel Pace, the son of Thomas Pace and Amelia ?. So far, Lynn White is the only other person to identify this error and advise the Pace network of the error. Others continue to compound the error by still showing that the wife of Thomas Pace was Amelia Boykin. Maybe an Amelia Boykin was indeed the wife, but nothing has been turned up to date to prove it. She could have been a widow of a Boykin man, or possibly had an entirely different surname. I will continue to urge all the descendants of this line to drop Boykin as the surname of the wife of Thomas Pace, until the necessary proof is found.
