I wrote this song several years ago for my in-laws' golden wedding anniversary. Since I started selling it a year ago, copies have gone to 33 states, England, Canada, Scotland, and India. The reaction has been overwhelmingly good. The recording is by professional musicians in a soft "old time country" style more like "easy listening". Songs of young love, unrequited love, broken love, cheating, and divorce abound, but where are the songs about love that lasts? Well, here is one. "Golden Love" is a 50th Fiftieth Golden Wedding Anniversary Gift Song honoring a love that lasts a lifetime. What's more, you can add "then" and "now" pictures and your own personal inscription, to make a Golden Wedding anniversary gift that is truly unique. The picture of a sample CD at left is the output of my scanner; the real thing is much sharper and smoother. Also available on tape cassette. |

There are a couple of ways you may be able to hear a part of the song. It seems to work differently with different browsers, and depends on what music programs you have on your computer to play the MP3. Generally it works better with Internet Explorer, especially to download, as Mozilla Firefox, for example, will only download a link. Here's what to try: to play the clip, double click Golden Love MP3. To download right-click Golden Love MP3. and choose Save target as... then choose the folder on your computer where you want it. (NOTE: Just so there is no misunderstanding--"jewel case" is jargon for a
plastic CD case. One person thought it was a "jeweled case". Nothing that fancy,
sorry.)
Suggestions:
- If there will be dancing, play the song while the couples are on the dance floor. It is in waltz time.
- Make extra copies of the lyrics, pass them out, and have a sing-along. You might want to play the song through first.
- Frame the lyrics as a picture (with their pictures and/or a personalized message would be nice) and present it along with the CD to the honored couple.
- Personalize the CD and printed lyrics with the enhancements that I offer above for an absolutely unique gift. Add pictures and/or personal messages. How about a picture of the couple as they were 50 years ago and as they are today? I can put your scanned images to the left and right of the title and logo at the top of the lyrics, on the CD itself, on the back insert of the jewel case. (see examples below).

Back of Jewel Case (example) I use an artistic font called Lynda Cursive, which does not scan well and looks rough here. It is not at all rough and looks very nice. There are many other ways also to format this label. A single picture can be centered with inscriptions right and left for balance. Or suggest your own ideas. I will customize to your specifications. |
