| S. Ariz. golf tourney moving to Tucson The John Gibson Cup matches are moving to Tucson. The annual competition between the top professionals and amateurs in southern Arizona has been held at Rio Rico Golf & Country Club for its first four years. The fifth annual event is set for Jan. 16-17 (1999). The opening round will be at Oro Valley Country Club, with the final day at Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa. The amateurs team pulled off an upset last year, ending the pros' three-year dominance. Larry Pagel of Randolph Men's Club returns as captain of the amateur squad. The competition is named for the late John Gibson, Oro Valley's first head pro and a former University of Arizona men's golf coach. It is sponsored by the Tucson Citizen.
