Welcome

Orange Tree

My purpose in preparing this Orange Tree with its various 'roots' and 'blossoms' is to strengthen the feeling of kinship among us and preserve our family ties.
As for you who have joined yourselves to the tree by marriage (or as in my case, lovingly 'grafted' by adoption), you are to be loved and cherished all the more; because, while those of the blood had no choice, you have honored us by choosing to be joined to the tree. While you are not related to us by blood, your descendants are our kin for all time.
I think of the Orange men as the 'roots' and the Orange ladies the beautiful 'blossoms' that give fragrance and produce the 'little buds' that eventually become branches. So, whether you're a Texas Orange, a Florida Orange, a California Orange, a Temple Orange, a Honey Orange, a Paige Orange or a Seedless Orange, be thankful. (You could have been a Bad Apple).

I wish to thank those who have been so kind and patient in providing this data. A special thanks to Linwood E. Orange, Hattiesburg, Miss. who published Oranges of Virginia in 1997. He traced the ancestry of my GRANDparent, William Edward 'Buck' Orange through the Joshua Orange branch. Also, thanks to another cousin, Jimmy Orange, Zephyr, Texas for helping me get started in 'webbing' and who has traced the William Orange branch (brother of Joshua) .
