Rev. William V. McNeely

Christian County Republican, March 9, 1899, page 5, column 1
transcribed by Pat McNeely.

Rev. W. V. McNeely of near Nixa went over Sunday to visit his son John in Greene County. When near his son's, his horse became frightened and Mr. McNeely jumped off without apparent injury. With help of a passing neighbor the horse, which had become entangled in a barbed-wire fence was caught and together they walked on to the house. About three minutes after he had been seated, Mr. McNeely dropped from his chair dead, supposed to be from heart failure. He was some 60 to 70 years old and one of the noted Baptist ministers of this section.
