Jacob Goas Families

Jacob1 Goas was born Abt. 1775 in Germany (Source: 1850 Beaver Co., PA Census.). He married (1) [Unknown 1st Wife Goas] Bef. 1802. She was born Bef. 1775 (Source: 1820 Butler Co., PA Census, 1F 45+ (b. bef. 1775).), and died Bef. 1825 (Source: guess based on apparent remarriage.). He married (2) [Unknown 2nd Wife Goas] Bef. 1825. She was born Bet. 1781 - 1790 (Source: 1830 Beaver Co., PA Census, 1F 40-49 (b. 1781-1790), am guessing this is a second wife based on age change from 1820 census and apparent additional children.), and died Bef. 1840 (Source: 1840 Beaver Co., PA Census, doesn't seem to be in census with family.).

Obituary: St. Cloud, Minnesota (Source: unnamed, undated obituary, transcribed by Liz Ault, GOOD WOMAN GONE. Mrs. Catherine Dayton, Aged 84 Years and Mother of Large Family, Dies at Winnebego Prairie. Word was received in the city this afternoon of the death at the home of her son, Clarke Dayton, of Mrs. Catherine Dayton of Brockway. Mrs. Dayton died at 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the advanced age of 84 years. She was an old resident of this city, having come here with her husband more than thirty-five years ago and having lived for many years on the flat near the old Bridgman mill site. She was a native of Pennsylvania and a life long member of the Methodist church. Her husband, Samuel Dayton, who died two years ago, was a veteran of the old Second Minnesota. The deceased had been ill for three weeks, though there was no disease that could be reached by medical skill. Her malady was simply a breaking down of the ske-n of life and her death was painless. Mrs. Dayton was the mother of thirteen children, six sons and seven daughters. Of this large family all but one are living and married. Several reside in the immediate vicinity of St. Cloud and the others are widely scattered. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house and the interment will be made at Winnebego Prairie. The Methodist pastor of Royalton will officiate.)
