Beth-Haven Cemetery

Established in 1887
Historically Beth-Haven Cemetery has been maintained by concerned and faithful
volunteers who take time out from their busy schedules
to keep the grounds and
make the needed repairs that we might have a place to be proud of and to honor
our loved ones who have gone
on to be with our Lord and Savior. But one
couple stands out above all the rest - Bernice (Dick) and Wilma Jones.
Their countless years
of work and leadership has resulted in an
endowed-perpetual care operation with elected officials who operate and oversee
the cemetery.
The land for the cemetery was donated by Dick’s grandfather,
Mr. M. G. Jones. With the help of his aging mother,
Dick identified graves
and erected markers where only rocks had been placed.
These records would have been forever lost had it not been for this family.
So,
while there is yet time, let us not fail to express our love and
appreciation to Dick and Wilma who have done so much for so many.

Beth-Haven Cemetery is located in the southwest part of Erath County, Texas, in
the Bays community, about five miles north of Round Grove. It has also
been known as
Bethel Cemetery, Jones Cemetery, and Greasy Corner Cemetery.
This cemetery was named by Mollie Sechrist Jones when the cemetery association discovered that the
name Bethel Cemetery was already in use in another county.
