PALM FRONDS
The Family Tree of James & Catherine (Powers) Palm
We were both born and raised as Michiganders; Jim from northwest Detroit and Cathy from Flint (including the suburbs of Swartz Creek and Davison). Now that we are retirees and in our 50's, it's fulltime RV'ing for us, creating opportunities to explore where our ancestors once lived.

DETOUR THROUGH HISTORY - Cathy's Blog
My research encompasses not only my direct line, but in-laws, distant cousins, and others. It has taken me from the journey of the Mayflower and early New England settlement to the removal of the Acadians and their resettlement in Louisiana. War heroes from the Colonial era to the World Wars, including prisoners of war, have are part of the family tree. A few politicians, both local and national, can be found here, too. There are a few famous people and many ordinary people populating this site.
Along the way I've found a PALM who was executed by Napoleon --
A ROARK who was captured by the British and Indians--
A TROUSDALE who was Governor of Tennessee--
A POWERS who was a candidate for the United States Senate in Arizona (but lost)--
A RICE who was a Union captain captured at Chickamauga --
There were lumbermen, farmers, auto workers, a saddler, a steel expert, electricians, an egg handler, police officers, teachers, copper miners, tobacco merchants, grocers, a dentist, captains of industry, plantation owners, stone cutters, soldiers, a mycologist, and government employees.
