AILES, John W., 1947, Coal Center / Charleroi
Funeral Services were held Wednesday afternoon in
Wilkinsburg for John Walter AILES, who died Monday, April 7, in the Pittsburgh
hospital, following an illness of four days.
Mr. Ailes, who was a formar Charleroi resident,
was the son of the late John W. and Louella JENKINS Ailes. He was
born June 20, 1895 at Coal Center, and while a young boy, moved to Charleroi
with his family. He attended Charleroi schools, and in 1916, moved
to WIlkinsburg. In 1917, he entered the Army service during World
War One. He was employed by the Shenango Pottery company at New Castle
for a number of years. At the time of his death he was a resident
of Laurel Mountain Park, Laughlintown.
He is survived by his wife, Amarette WEBB AIles,
his mother Mrs. Louella Jenkins Ailes of Wilkinsburg, one sister, Mrs.
Eleanor POWER, two brothers, C. Clarence of Wilinsburg and B. Frere Ailes
of Erie.
Interment was held yesterday in Shelbyville, Tennessee.

Mrs. Anna Biechler, 72 years old, a lifelong resident
of Thompson Run, died at 4 o’clock this morning at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Nicholas Imblum, of Grant street, Duquesne. For the past year
she had resided in Duquesne. She was a consistent member of St. Anges’
R. C. church, of Thomspon Run, and was respected by her friends for her
beautiful character.
She is survived by four sons, John, of Mt. Oliver,
Nicholas, of Erie, Jacob, of Northside, Pittsburg, Joseph, of Homestead;
six daughters, Mrs. Jacob Ohms, of Lincoln Place, Mrs. Mary Winand,
of this city, Mrs Henry Shaff, of Mt. Oliver, Mrs. John Lejune, of Duquesne,
Mrs. Nicholas Imblum, of Duquesne, Mrs. Roy Helsel, of Youngstown, O; 42
grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral arrangements
have not been completed, but the service will likely be held on Tuesday
morning.

Mrs. Mary Beichler, 74, died this morning at the
home of her step-daughter, Mrs. William E. Holloway, 1724 Willow street,
following an illness of seven months. She had been a resident of
this vicinity for 42 years and was a member of the Christy Park M. E. church,
which she had attended for 35 years, being one of the oldest members.
She was known as a great friend of the sick and needy.
She is survived by four step-children, Mrs. William
E. Holloway, Fred Beichler and Mrs Dema Beichler, this city, and Franklin
Beichler, Youngstown, O.
Services will be held Friday afternoon at the Free
Methodist church, Thirty-first street, Christy Park, in charge of Rev.
Fred Diddle. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon cemetery.

Nicholas J. Bichler, for 38 years a resident of Thompson Run, Mifflin
township, died at his home there last evening at the age of 76 years. He
was well known in this city, where he had disposed of his farm products
for many years. He is survived by his wife, Anna Bichler, four sons,
Nicholas J., Jr., John T., Jacob and Joseph, and seven daughters – Mrs.
Mary Winand and Mrs. John Wolf of this city, and Mrs. Anna Ohm, Mrs. Henry
Shaff, Mrs. Maggie Gross, Mrs. John Lejuns and Mrs. Lena
Hoelcel, of Mifflin township. The funeral will take place on
Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock from St. Agnes’ Roman Catholic church,
Bull Run. Interment will be made in the cemetery at that place.

Mrs. Margaret A. Bauer-Boehmer, 88, a resident of
McKeesport for more than a half century, died at her home, 612½
Soles street, yesterday afternoon at 5:45 o’clock, following a year’s illness.
She was born in Obengrub, Germany, March 10, 1844 and came direct to McKeesport
from Germany 51 years ago. She was a member of St. Mary’s R. C. church
and
was the widow of John Boehmer, who died August 28, 1928.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Margaret
Stenger at home and by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning
at 9 o’clock from St. Mary’s R. C. church, in charge of her pastor, Rev.
W. C. Fromme. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s cemetery.

Bernard P. Boehmer, 71, died this morning at 2:15 o'clock
at his home, 1829 Beech street. He was born June 27, 1860,
in Bavaria, Germany. He was retired nine years ago as a watchman
at the Wood mill. Mr. Boehmer had lived here for 50
years and was a member of St. Mary's Beneficial society and the Holy
Name society.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Fay [sic] Boehmer;
by one daughter, Mrs. Joseph F. Stenger and by five
grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at ? a.m.
from St. Mary's R. C. church, on Olive avenue, in charge of
Rev. W. C. Fromme. Interment will be at St. Mary's cemetery.

Mrs. Josephine S. Boehmer, 1829 Beech St., died yesterday
at 4:20 p.m. at the age of 84.
Born in Thompson's Run, West Mifflin, on June 8, 1886,
she was the daughter of the late John P. and Anna Decker Fey.
A resident of Thompson's Run and McKeesport all of her life, Mrs. Boehmer
was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic
Church, its Altar and Rosary Societies and the L. C. B. A. of the church.
Arrangements are in charge of the Hunter-Edmundsons-Striffler
Funeral Home, where friends are being received. Solemn
requiem high mass will be offered Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church
with the Rev. William C. Fromme officiating.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
The widow of Bernard P. Boehmer, Mrs. Boehmer is survived
by a daughter, Mrs. Philomena Stenger at home; five
grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Emery C. Brewer, 69, of 115 Vernon Avenue, Belle
Vernon, died Wednesday, October 28, 1992, at 8:17 a.m. in his home.
He was born August 30, 1923, in Lowber, a son of
the late Fred and Katheryn Haywood Brewer.
At the time of his death, Mr. Brewer was serving
as president of North Belle Vernon Borough Council.
He was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area,
where is was a member of Heritage Hills Tabernacle.
Mrs. Brewer was a life member and current chaplain
of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department, where he served on the Kennywood
Picnic Committee for the past 40 yesrs. he was a member of the Westmoreland
County Firemen's Association, the Southwestern Pennsylvania Chiefs and
Assistant Chiefs Association and the Mohawks Association of Westmoreland
County.
Mr. Brewer was past president and current chaplain
of the Westmoreland County Boroughts Association.
He was member and past president of the Belle Vernon
Golden Age Assembly.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S.
Army, receiving the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge.
Mrs. Brewer was a member of Free and Accepted Masons
Belle Vernon Lodge 643 and was president of the North Belle Vernon Borough
Democratic Committee.
He was one of the founders of Community Ambulance
Service, and was a board member of the Westmoreland County Area on Aging.
A retired truck driver, Mr. Brewer has worked for
Sentle Trucking Co. and Guttman Oil Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by a brother, William Brewer, and a daughter.
On September 25, 1992, he celebrated 50 yers of
marriage with Betty McClain Brewer, who survives. Also surviving
are a sone, Dale A. Brewer of Waynesboro, VA; two daughters, Nadene J.
Brewer at home and Mrs. Ralph (Darlene) Waggett of Stockdale; one brother,
Kenneth Brewer of Hopwood; three sisters, Mrs. James (Donna) Moats and
Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Heffran, both of Washington Township, and Mrs. Michael
(Linda) Zelesnick of Perryopolis; and three granddaughters, Behany Dawn
Waggett, Amy Brewer and Jodi Elyn Brewer.
COLE, John E, 1972, Long Branch
John E. Cole, 58, of Long Branch, Coal Center R.
D. 1, died Thursday at 11:55 p.m. in Brownsville Hospital following a brief
illness.
He was born Nov 13, 1914, in Fayette County, a son
of John and Mary HEWITT COLE.
He was employed at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel's Allenport
Works.
He was a life-long resident if the Coal Center area
and was a member of the Howe Methodist Church.
Survivors are his widow, Genevieve June DIXON Cole,
two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Irene SKAVREK of Charleroi R.D. 1 and Jean
COle; three sons, Ronald S of Bentleyville , Gregory John and Jayson, both
at home; two brothers, ALbert F. of Belle Vernon and Earl of California;
five sisters, Mrs. May BARTON of Coal Center, Mrs. Frances LARURELLA of
Daisytown R.D. 1, Mrs. Margaret BOOTH of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. mary CZAPP
of Brownsville and Mrs. Bertha KENNEDY of Baltimore, Md., and two grandchildren.
His first wife, Virginia Irene FIELDS Cole died
April 30, 1959.
Friends will be received after 4 p.m. today at the
Greenlee Funeral Home, Bentleyville.

Mamie May Clutter, 79, of 305 Center Ave., Charleroi,
died yesterday, at her home.
Mrs. Clutter was born in Uniontown, Sept., 18, 1891,
a daughter of the late Asa M and Ebba BAER ROCKWELL.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi.
Her husband, John H Clutter, died in 1953.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Grace YARLBOROUGH
of North Charleroi; two sons, John H. Jr., of Charleroi and William I,
of Boca Raton, Fla.; a brother, Walter S. Rockwell of Fisher Heights, Carroll
Twp.; seven grandchildren.

His passing leaves a vacancy that will be keenly
felt by those near
and dear to him, who have watched and cared for him since the death
of
his parents, several years ago. The entire neighborhood in which
he
lived took an intense interest in him and his popularity was at all
times attested by the devotion of the youngsters in the vicinity, all
willing and anxious to do a little something for Jerry.
He is survived by three sisters, Misses Grace, Geraldine,
and
Verne. Funeral services will be held at his late home today (Friday)
at
2 o'clock p.m. in charge of Rev. L. M. BONNER, pastor of the Roscoe
M.
E. Church. Interment will be in Howe Cemetery.
Mrs. Ida B. Diehl, well know here but for some years a resident of Monessen, died of a heart ailment on Tuesday, March 4, 1942 just a few hours after a son, Pvt. William Diehl left with a contingent of Monessen draftees. Through the efforts of the Red Cross he was contacted at a reception center and returned to his home.
Survivors of Mrs. Diehl are the following children, Mrs. Lee Caldwell, Charleroi, Pvt. William Diehl, Mrs. Charles Jenkins, Erie, PA, George Diehl, Monessen; and twin daughters, Mrs. Irving jester of Monessen and Mrs. Earl Douglas of Boston, Mass; fours sisters, Mrs. Joseph Pomerson, of Charleroi; Mrs. Sterling McCusker, Charleroi; Mrs. Nixon O'Neil, Coal Center and Mrs. Robert Stark, Roscoe; three brothers, James Gollick, Fayette City R. D., William Gollick, Dearborn, Michigan; and Howard Collick, Coal Center and her mother, Mrs. Drusilla Gollick of Charleroi.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Charles Swope of Monessen officiating.

Ardell Donaldson, 56, Good St. Roscoe, Pennsylvania, died at 11 p.m. yesterday in the Oakland Veterans Administration Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a lingering illness. Mr. Donaldson was born in Roscoe, March 9, 1916, a son of the late Paul Donaldson. He served as a Technician Fifth Grade with the 32nd Armored Regiment in the European-African-Middle-Eastern Theater of operations. He participated in five campaigns and was awarded five bronze stars. An employee of the Interstate Paper Supply Col., Inc., Roscoe, he was a member of Roscoe Legion Post 801. Survivors include a brother, Raymond, Roscoe; and aunt, Miss Lillian Donaldson, Roscoe, with whom he made his home; two nephews, Raymond and Ardell Donaldson, both of Roscoe.
Jeanette H. Donaldson, 81, of the Humbert Lane Personal
care Home, Washington, died Thursday, January 12, 1989, at 10:55 a.m. following
a short illness.
She was born April 23, 1907 in Roscoe, a daughter
of the late William and Sylvia HAMILTON KERR. Mrs. Donaldson was Protestant
by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Robert W. Donaldson Jr., on May 14, 1964.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Doris GARDNER of Taylor, Michigan,
and Mrs. Sharon FARKAS of Perryopolis, five grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren. There will be no visitation, and funeral services will be
private. The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, is in
charge of arrangements.
Robert W. Donaldson, Jr. riverboat captain for the Jones & Laughlin Steel co. died in yesterday in Brownville General Hospital. Captain Donaldson, of Perryopolis, was 49. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Hattie Donaldson of Roscoe: his widow Jeanette H. Donaldson; two daughters: Mrs. Doris GARDNER of Detroit and Mrs. Sharon FARKAS of Perryopolis: one brother, Harold John of Roscoe; three sisters, Mrs. Irene DUVALL of Roscoe, Mrs. Marjorie GARRETT of Elco, and Mrs. Doris O'NEIL of R. D. #1 Coal Center.
Anna S. Duvall, 89 of Elco, died Wednesday, May 13, 1987 at 6 P.M. in the Waddington Convalescent Home, Fayette City, R. D. 1. She was born April 4, 1898 in Dawson, daughter of the late Saul and Emma CORE SIMS. She was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, California Chapter #211. Friends will be received at the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, on Saturday from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to a favorite charity.
George Nelson Duvall, 76, of Roscoe, died Tuesday,
January 12, 1993 at 10:15 A.M. in Monday Valley Hospital, Carroll Township,
Pennsylvania. He was born February 16, 1916, in Roscoe, son of the
late Nelson and Anna SIMS Duvall. Mr. Duvall was a member of the Roscoe
United Methodist Church. He served with the U. S. Army during World
War II and was a member of the American legion Post 801 of Roscoe.
He retired as an electrical foreman from Wheeling
Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Allenport Plant. Mr. Duvall is survived
by his wife, Irene DONALDSON Duvall; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall
Nelson and Nancy Duvall, stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia
and residing in Hampton, VA; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Weisner of Ligonier.
There will be no public visitation. Funeral services and interment
will be private. Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced
at a later date. The Howard W. Mc Crory Funeral Home, Fayette City is in
charge of the arrangements.
Nelson B. Duvall of second Ave., Elco, died Saturday at 8:25 A.M. in Brownsville General Hospital. He was 81.Mr. Duvall was born July 8, 1894, in Jefferson Township, a son of the late L. G. Duvall and Ida MEICHI Duvall. He was a member of the United Mineworkers of American Local 6330, District 4, and Junior Mechanics QUAM of Roscoe. Mr. Duvall also was a former member of Elco Borough Council, having served in that position for 25 years. He also was a past member of the Tri-Town Borough Association. He also played football for the former Elco Sterlings semi-professional team. He is survived by his widow, Anna S. Duvall; one son, George N. Duvall of Roscoe; one sister Laura PERRIE of Richfield, Ohio; one grandson, Sgt. Randall N. Duvall of the U. S. Air Forc3e, and one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Alicia Duvall. FEY, Anna, 1909, McKeesport (Submitted by Mary)
Mrs. Anna Fey, 84 years old, died yesterday at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. B. P. Boehmer, Beech Street, where she had
made her home for the past two years. Death was due to old age,
but was hastened by two accidents in the past several
weeks, in which Mrs. Fey sustained a fracture of the arm and the hip.
The most recent accident was an unusual one. Mrs.
Fey was (three unreadable words) when she lost her balance and fell
to the floor, fracturing the hip bone. For 50 years Mrs.
Fey had been a resident of Thompson Run, where she was well known.
Her husband died there two years ago at the age of
83. Besides Mrs. Boehmer, the following children survive; Mrs.
J. B. Weber, Mrs. John Steiner, McKeesport, and Mrs. J.
Obringer, Parkersburg, W. Va. Funeral services will be held Tuesday
morning at 10 o'clock and interement will be made at
St. Agnes cemetery, Thompson Run.

Casper Fey, 97, a resident of the Boston district for 58 years and a
retired farmer died yesterday at 5:*0 p.m. at his home on
the Boston Hollow Rd., Elizabeth Twp. The son of the late Nicholas
and Madaline Decker Fey he was born on Feb. 13,
1850 in Mifflin Twp. His wife was the late Margaret Bickar Fey.
Survivors include three sons, Peter W. and John C. of
Boston and Joseph P. of McKeesport, five daughters, Mrs.
Mathilda Graham of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Frank Bach of Duquesne, Sister
M. Maxentia of St. Xavier’s, Mrs. Joseph Keddie of
West Sunbury, and Mrs. George S. Keddie of Boston. 33 grandchildren,
*7 great grandchildren, and eight great great
grandchildren.
Funeral services are planned for Monday at 9 a.m. at St.
Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, of which he was a member with
the Rev. W. C. Fromme officiating. Interment will follow in St.
Mary’s Cemetery. Friends are being received at the
Hunter-Edmundson-Striffler Funeral Home.

CASPER FEY, PIONEER RESIDENT, DEAD AT 97
Casper Fey, aged 97 years, died at his home in Boston, Pa., on Friday,
June 20. [1947] He was the husband of the late
Margaret Bickar. He was buried on Monday morning from St. Mary’s
Church, Olive Street, McKeesport, following a
Solemn Requiem Mass. His grandson, the Rev. Albert Fey, C.P.S.
was celebrant of the Mass, assisted by his brother, the
Rev. George Fey, C.P.S., deacon, and the Rev. Patrick McGan, O.Cap.,
subdeacon.
Mr. Fey was born in Mifflin Township on February 13, 1850. He
lived in Boston for more than a half-century. His entire life
was devoted to farming and until the end of his life he never lost
that keen interest in soil.
He was the father of thirteen children, eight of whom survive him:
Peter and John of Boston, Joseph of McKeesport; Sister
M, Maxentia of the Sisters of Mercy, Latrobe; Mrs, Susan Bach, Duquesne;
Mrs. Matilda Graham, Homewood; Mrs. Agnes
Keddie, Butler, and Mrs. Marie Keddie of Boston. He is also survived
by 32 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and
eight great great grandchildren.
Fathers Albert and George Fey and Sister M. Ruth of the Sisters of
Mercy are his grandchildren. Another grandson, Joseph
Fey, is in the seminary at Notre Dame, Indiana.

Henry Fey, 62, of 103 Erwin Street, Duquesne, died in McKeesport Hospital
at 2:25 a.m. today.
Born on Aug. 31, 1883, in Mifflin Township (now West Mifflin Borough)
he was the son of the late Nicholas and Carolyn
Rodgers Fey. He had spent his lifetime in this district and was
a member of the Holy Name Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Frances Derhofer Fey: one daughter Mrs.
Anna Bradley of Liberty; three brothers, John, William
and Albert of Duquesne; and a sister, Mrs. Clara Trainor of McKeesport.
Friends are being received at the family residence. The Rev.
J. Kelly will officiate at requiem high mass in Holy Name Church
on Monday at 9 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery,
Duquesne.

John P. Fey died this morning at 7:45 o'clock of complication of ailments
due to his advanced age, at his home in Thompson
Run, Mifflin township. Had he lived until January 1 [Memorial
Card says that he was born on January 16, 1824] would have
been 83 years of age. He was a native of France, but for a great
many years had followed farming and mining in Mifflin
township. His wife, who is of the same age, and the following
children survive him: Mrs. J. B. Weber, Mrs. John Stinner,
Mrs. W. Eichler, Mrs. Frank Fleck and Mrs. B. Boehmer, all of this
city, and Mrs. John Obringer, of Parkersburg. The
funeral service will be held at St. Agnes Church, Bull Run, at 10:20
o'clock Monday morning by the Rev. Father Meyer, and
the burial will be in the church cemetery.

Leo William Fey, aged 38 years, died last night at 7:40
o'clock at his home in Elizabeth township, Boston Hollow road. He
was born in Lincoln township and had lived here all his life.
He had been ill for two days with heart trouble and influenza. He
was the son of Caspar Fey and the late Margaret Bicker-[sic]-Fey and
was the husband of Mary A. Kiddie. [sic] Mr. Fey
was an employee of the National Tube company and was a member of the
Holy Name society of St. Mary's R. C. church.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters,
George, Albert, Mary and Isabelle, by his father and by six sisters
and three brothers, Mrs. Matilda Graham of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Frank Bach
of Duquesne, Sister Maxentia of St. Peter's
convent, McKeesport, Mrs. Margaret Kramer of McKeesport, Mrs. Joseph
Kiddie of Claytonia, Pa., Mrs George Kiddie
of Boston, Pa., Peter and John of Boston, and Joseph of McKeesport.
Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 9:30
o'clock from St. Mary's R. C. church in charge of Rev. W. C.
Fromme. Interment will be at St. Mary's cemetery, this city.

THE GRIM REAPER
Mrs. Madeline Fey, aged 84 years, died yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock,
at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Ruhe,
511 Grant Avenue. Mrs. Fey was one of the best known women of
the borough having been a resident here for the past 24
years. The funeral will be conducted next Monday morning at 9:30
o'clock, when high mass will be celebrated in the Holy
Name Catholic church. The interment will be made later in St.
Agnes cemetery, Bull Run. Mrs Fey is survived by two sons
and one daughter who have the sympathy of friends in this bereavement.

Mrs. Fey was born September 12, 1854 at Allegheny City,
PA., a daughter of Peter and Barbara Snyder BICKER. She has lived in this
district for 40 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Casper FEY; four sons:
Peter, at home, John and Leo of Boston, and Joseph of McKeesport; six daughters:
Mrs. Mailda GRAHAM of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Frank Bach of Duquesne, Sister Maxentia
of St. Peter's Convent this city, Mrs. Margaret KRAMER of McKeesport, Mrs.
Joseph KEDDIE of Clatonia, PA. and Mrs. George Keddie at home; two sisters:
Mrs. Mary BAUR of Anaheim, CA. and Mrs. Philomenia EICHER of Boston, [PA.];
37 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday with requiem mass
at St. Mary's R.C. Church conducted by Rev. William C. Fromme. Burial will
be at St. Mary's Cemetery."

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret A. Bicker-Fey, who
died yesterdayat her home on the Boston Hollow road, will be held at 9
a.m. Saturday with requiem mass at St. Mary’s R. C. church, conducted by
Rev. William C. Fromme. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery.
In addition to the list of relatives published yesterday,
two brothers survive. They are John BICKER, of Duquesne, and William BICKER,

Sister M. Maxentia Fey, a member of the Pittsburgh Sisters
of Mercy for 77 years, died Thursday, June 26, in Mercy Hall, Oakland,
following an extended illness.
A native of Bulls Run, Pa., she attended public schools
and entered the community from St. Mary parish, McKeesport, in 1903.
Sister did convent work for more than 30 years at St.
Xavier in Latrobe and also served in city and McKeesport convents.
Surviving are one brother, Joseph, of Pittsburgh; one
sister, Marie Keddie, of Boston, Pa., and numerous nieces and nephews,
among them: Fr. Joseph Fey of South Bend, Ind., Fr. George Fey, C.PP.S.
of San Angelo, Tex.; Fr. Albert Fey, C.PP.S., of Miami, Okla.; and Sisters
Miriam Raible, Ruth Fey, M. Matilda Holtz and M. Lucille Holtz, all members
of
the Pittsburgh Sisters of Mercy.

Edward C. GANOE, 75, of Grindstone R.D. died Sunday,
July 24, 1988, in Richmond, Va.
Survivors include one son, Robert E. Ganoe of Thornburg,

James Gollick, age 56, died at this home in Lober, PA, at 10:12 p.m., on Thursday, October 14, 1943 following an illness of several years. Mr. Gollick, born in Roscoe, November 21, 1886, was well known in Roscoe and resided here for 32 years before moving to Lober.
He was married on December 23, 1909 to Miss Ella Kaylor, of Letart, WV, who survives;. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Drusilla Gollick of Lober; four daughters, Mrs. Frances Crookham, Lober, Mrs. William Hawker, Brownsville, R.D, Mrs. James Hostler, Lober and Miss Avis Lee Gollick at home; two brothers, William, Detroit, MI, and Howard, Coal Center, R.D.; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha O'Neil, Coal Center R.D., Mrs. Emma McCusker and Mrs. Ella Pomerson, Charleroi and Mrs. Clementine Stark, Roscoe and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon with burial
following in MT. Tabor Cemetery.

Jerry M. Gollick, 45, native of Roscoe and veteran of the World War, died at 11 a. m. Tuesday,in his home at 724 McKean Avenue, Charleroi. He was born August 28, 1890, a son of Drusilla Abbott and the late William Gollick.
In addition to his mother, who still resides at Roscoe, he leaves the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Robert Stark, Roscoe; Mrs. William Diehl, Monessen; Mrs. Joseph Pomerson, Charleroi; Mrs. Nick O'Neil, Lock 4; Mrs. Sterling McCusker, Charleroi; Alma at home; James of Lober; William of Detroit, and Howard of Gibson.
The remains will be removed from the McCrory Mortuary in Fayette City to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stark, Sr., in Roscoe, where military services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

Mrs. Anna E. Gregg, 78, 183 College Avenue, California,
died Saturday, Sept. 15, 1945, at her home following an illness of a year.
Mrs. Gregg, widow of James Gregg, was botrn in East
Pike Run Township, Jan 9, 1867, a daughter of Joshua and Nancy JOHNSON
GRIMES. She was a life resident of California.
Mrs. Gregg was a member of the California Presbyterian
Church. Her husband died in 1944.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Helen SAGER, California,
and Mrs. Ethel DIXON, California; a sister, Mrs. Olive SMALLWOOD, Coal

Mrs. Elizabeth GREGG, aged 88 years, died Friday,
March 16, at 7:30 p.m. at her home inYoungstown, Ohio. She was a
former resident of Monessen, moving to Youngstown in 1927.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary and Capitola,
both at home; a son, John Gregg, of Detroit; four grandchildren; three
great grandchildren.

A homemaker, Mrs. Jacobs lived most of her life

Frank C. Jacobs, Sr., of Allenport, died Tuesday,

3:02 p.m. of a heart ailment in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital.
Mr. Jacobs was born in Washington Twp, Fayette COunty,

lived here for many years before moving to Allenport.

Headline: Aged Citizens Death
John T Kennedy died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Thomas Jones, on
Wednesday April 14, 1897, aged
85 years. Mr Kennedy was widely known hereabouts, having
lived in this vicinity for more than twenty years,
making his home, for the most part, with his children. Only last
Sunday was his 85th birthday, and the
occasion was celebrated by a reunion of the children, which was a very
pleasant event. His death was quite
sudden and resulted from the infirmities of old age. He was the
father of eight daughters and two sons. Two
of the children and his wife have been dead many years and are buried
at Freeport, Pa. The children living
are Mrs William Findley and Mrs Thomas Jones of West Elizabeth,
Mrs John Saddler of Jefferson, Mrs John
Shepler of Jefferson Twp, Mrs PH Naley of Manor Pa, Mrs John Walton
of Reynoldton, Pa, Charles Kennedy
of Walton Station and another son, Danial, in the north-western part
of this state. Mr Kennedy was full of life
and spirits and was highly thought of by all who knew him. The
funeral services were at Mr Jones’s residence
on Thursday evening, and interment at Freeport today.

George Krajnik of 215 Mellon Ave., Donora,
died today at 12:05 a.m. in Presbyterian
University Hospital, Pittsburgh following an illness of several years.
He was 63.
Mr. Krajnik was born June 15, 1913 in
Webster, a son of the late George and Mary Kravka Krajnik.
He had been a resident of Donora for most
of his lIfetime and was retired from the Blooming Mill department of the
former U.S. Steel, Donora Works.
Mr. Krajnik was a member of St. Dominic R. C. Church
and Knights of lmmactilata.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
two brothers, Joseph and Alex, and a sister,. Mrs. Margaret Daniels

She was born December 14, 1923, in Fallowfied Township,

Mrs. Kuhar qas a member of Ave Maria Parish, St.
Luke's church, Bentleyville.
She was employed for many years as a meat cutter
for the former A&P supermarket, Clover Farm and Foodland.
On February 12, 1942, she married Joseph A. Kuhar
Sr. , who survives.

Joseph A. "Peanuts" Kuhar. 82, of Bentleyville, died
at 4:22 a.m. Monday, November 29, 1999, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1917, in Bentleyville, a son
of Steve amd Mary SMELKO Kuhar.
Mr Kuhar was a retired coal miner from Bethlehem
Mine Corp. Mine 51 in Ellsworth.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War 11
and was a member of Bentleyville American Legion post 165,
the Lithuanian club of Bentleyville and Ave Maria Parish.
On February 12, 1942 he married Grace HUBER, who
died April 1, 1999
Surviving are a son Ronald L. Kuhar of Bentleyville,
a granddaughter, Tiffany Kuhar and two sisters,
Mary GRENA of Smock and Theresa GREYHOSKY of Cokeburg.
Deceased are a sister, Margaret SINDRICH; a son

a.m. Monday, June 18, 2001, in Beverly Health care, Cannonsburg.

Mr Kuhar was a 1960 graduate of Bentleyville High

Mr. Kuhar was employed as a truck driver for Gavco
Inc. of Bentleyville.

born April 6, 1881 in California. He was an employee of the Hillman
Barge Construction Company, West Brownsville; was a member of the California
Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class, and of the Monongahela Valley

He is survived by his wife, Sarah, and two grandchildren;

Daniel R. Lynn, 74, of Lowber, Fayette City
R.D. 1, died in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital, February 25, 1959 at 3:40

He was born September 11, 1884, and for years was
a telephone operator in Gillespie. He retired when dial phones were
installed there.

Mrs. McCusker was born October 22, 1900, in Roscoe,

she was the last surviving member of her immediate family, which had included

died Saturday, March 15, 1986, at 8:45 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital.

Millie Phillips, formerly of Washington Ave, Charleroi,
died Monday, Aug. 15, 1988, at 6:50 p.m. in the Valley Care Nursing Home
in Sezickley. She was 88.
She was born May 22, 1900, in Finleyville, a daughter
of John W. and Elizabeth Amelia CHATMAN EDWARDS.
After leaving the Charleroi area, Mrs. Phillips
had lived in Sun City, Ariz., and had returned to the area two years ago
to live with her son in Glenwillard.
She was educated in the Charleroi schools and the
Carnegie Tech School of Music. Known for her music as a violinist,
Mrs. Phillips played in the Coyle Theater as an accompanist to the silent
pictures of the day, prior ro talking pictures.
Mrs. Phillips had been employed by the office of
the state AUditor General, prior to her retirement in 1967.
She was a member of AARP and was Catholic by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Lewis C. Phillips; a daughter, Helen Mary, in 1932;
three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Lewis
G. and Florence Phillips of Glenwillard, with whom she made her home; three
grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home
Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi.
Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced
tomorrow by the funeral home.

RAHE, Agnes (FEY) , 1946, Duquesne (Submitted by Mary)
Mrs. Agnes Fey Rahe, widow of Henry Rahe died suddenly
at her home, 401 Catherine St., Duquesne, today at 2:15 a.m.
She was a daughter of the late John and Susanna Miller
Fey and had spent her entire lifetime in Duquesne.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church,
Duquesne, and the Ladies' Altar Society of that congreagation. She
is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Anna Ruhe,
Mrs. Cecelia Snyder, Catherine, Nicholas, Joseph E. and Mary of Duquesne,
Edward H. of Swissvale.
Friends are being received at the residence Catherine
St., Duquesne. A solemn high mass of requiem will be sung in St. Joseph's
Church on Monday at 9:340 a.m. by the Rev. Charles Fehrenbach. Burial
will be in the parish cemetery.

SIMPSON, Lida H. (Donaldson) 1986, Roscoe
Lida H. Simpson of Roscoe died Sunday, March 16,
1986 in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 89.
Mrs. Simpson was born July 21, 1896 in Roscoe, a
daughter of the late Peter and Lydia Ann GILES DONALDSON.
A lifelong resident of Roscoe, she was a member
of the United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxillary and the WBA,
all of Roscoe.
She was also a member of the Easter Star Lodge 211,
California.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert
and Dorothy Simpson of Roscoe; and two grandchildren, Roberta Delasko of
Johnstown and Douglas Simpson of Allenport.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death
by her husband, Mark C. Simpson, in 1967; three brothers; Robert, Fay and
Paul Donaldson; and by a sister, Lillian Donaldson.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9p.m. in the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Home, Inc., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe.

Death of Mrs. Speer.
At one o'clock, p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, in
West Bellevernon,
Pa., Mrs. Anna Eliza, wife of Capt. Solomon C. SPEERS. She was
born
April 5, 1836. SHe was the daughter of Nathaniel R. and Marth
Walker.
Her father was a native of Boston, Mass., and her mother was a daughter
of Thomas and Rebecca BROWNFIELD, of Fayette County, Pa. She
was
married to Capt. Solomon C. Speers May 6, 1857. She leaves a
bereaved
husband, two sons , and two daughters, and a large circl of friends.
She had been a member of the Baptist church for over thirty years.
Her's was a valuable life to her family, to her friends, and to the
church. The funeral will take place Friday at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Matilda Jane Stewart, 80, died Wednesday, June
29, 1949, at 10:15 a.m. at her home in California. Death was due
to a heart ailment, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Stewart, a daughter of John Calvin Berner and
Sarah Elizabeth FIELDS Berner, was born May 17, 1869, in Smithfield.
She was the widow of Thomas Stewart, who died 26 years ago. She was
a resident of California for the last 45 years, and was a member of the
California Methodist Church, having transfered her membership 35 years
ago from the Roscoe Church.
Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Ethel WAGNER,
of Lancaster; Mrs Mary COATSWORTH, Walter B Stewart, Mrs Grace COATSWORTH,
A. B. Stewart and Clell Stewart, all of California; Mrs. Ann UNDERWOOD,
of Detroit, and mrs. Margaret FOWLER, of Brownsville; nine grandchildren,
and four great-grandchildren.
Former Long Branch burgess and Fayette City merchant,
Frank William Stockton, Coal Center R.D. 1 died today at 2:50 a.m. in Mercy
Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 81.
Mr. Stockton held a number of posts in Long Branch
Borough in addition to his terms of office as burgess, including borough
coucilman, auditor, road supervisor, and school board member.
He was a former owner and active in the Stockton
Brothers Grocery Store, Fayette City for 65 years.
Born Nov. 25, 1896 in Burwordsley, near Chester,
England, he was the son of the late John A. and Esther Threadgold Stockton.
He was a Long Branch resident most of his entire life.
He was married March 14, 1923 to Alice Phillips
Stockton, who survives.
Mr. Stockton was a former member of the Mt. Tabor
Methodist Church for many years for many years, and was a member of the
Speers United Methodist Church.
He also was a member of the Long Branch Community
Grange No. 2072 and the Maple Creek Poultry Club.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stockton was preceded
in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Stockton, in addition to his widow, is survived
by one son, John W. Stockton of Long Branch; one daughter, Mrs. Alex (Jean)
Balla of Monroeville; and three grandsons, Jon SHane Stockton of Fayette
City, and Bryan and Kevin Balla of Monroeville.
Friends will be received in the Shelby D. Ferguson
Funeral Home, 700 Broad Ave, Belle Vernon, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial
contributions to the Memorial Fund of the Speers United Methodist Church.

Howard J. "Babs" Stark, 76, of Roscoe, died Monday, March 26, 1990 in Mon Valley Hospital.
He was born August 22, 1913, in Roscoe, a son of the late Robert and Clementine Gollick Stark Sr.
Mr. Stark was Protestant by faith, and a member of the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department for many years and a life member of the Slovak Beneficial Society of Roscoe.
He retired as a millwright from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company, Allenport Plant.
Mr. Stark was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Brewer in 1972, Drusilla Leonetti in 1979 and Irene Atkinson in 1987; five brothers, George William in 1965, Robert Jr. in 1981, Myron "Butch" in 1983, John "Jack" in 1984 and Thomas in 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Stark of Elco; two sons, Herman of Yorba Linda, CA and Roy of Marietta, OH; one daughter, Linda Swails of Fort Lauderdale, FL; seven grand-children; two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Marybelle) Neudorfer of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Mrs. Bessie Flaherty of Elco; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Homes Inc., 1008 Furlong
Ave., Roscoe. Interment will be at Belle Vernon Cemetery.
Robert J. Stark, Jr., 79, River Street, Roscoe, died
Thursday, December 24, 1981 at 2:15 a.m. in the Brownsville General Hospital.
Born November 30, 1902 in Roscoe, he was the son
of the late Robert and Clementine Gollick Stark.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by
a brother, George William and two sisters, Margaret Brewer in 1972 and
Drusilla Leonetti in 1979.
He was a member of the Mosse Club, Roscoe; a social
member of the Roscoe Slovak Club and a retired employee of the No. 3 hot
mill at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Works, Allenport. He was a
Presbyterian by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Kipp Stark;
a son, Robert, Monessen; a daughter, Caroline Bastian, Roscoe; 3 grandchildren;
three sisters, Marybelle Neudorfer, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Irene Atkinson,
Belle Vernon and Bessie Flaherty, Elco; four brothers, Thomas, Fayette
City R. D. , Howard J., Roscoe, Myron C., Roscoe and John H., California.
Interment will be in Howe Cemetery, Coal Center.

Thomas W. Stark Sr., 84, of Perryopolis, died Saturday,
October 1, 1988 at 4:15 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital after a short illness.
He was born September 21, 1904, in Stockdale, a
son of the late Robert and Clementina Gollick Stark.
Mr. Stark was a member of the Little Redstone United
Presbyterian Church, Fayette City.
He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation,
Allenport plant.
Mr. Sark was preceded in death by his wife Delila
V. Wolfe Stark in 1974 and a granddaughter Ella V. Wood in 1981; four brothers
and three sisters.
Surviving are one son, Thomas W. Sark, Jr. at home,
four daughters, Mrs. June Wood of Stockdale, Mrs. Doris Menia of Charleroi,
Mrs. Lee Condron of Deland, FL, Mrs. Ira Lane Rabatin of Perryopolis; 19
grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Howard Stark of
Roscoe; two sisters, Mrs. Marybelle Neudorfer of Davie, FL and Mrs. Bessie
Flaherty of Elco.

Funeral Home, Main Street, Fayette City, today from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday until 2 p.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon
Cemetery.
Veteran Physician Dies in Dravosburg Home at Age of 71

A memorial service will be held this evening for
Maria (CARROZZA) Taylor of 1101 Ghrahm St., Belle Vernon, who died Monday,
April 28, 1986, at 8:24 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 82.
Mrs. Taylor was born June 9, 1903, in Italy, a daughter
of the late Nick and Leanora CORADDO GIANNEA.
She was a member of the Jehovah Witness Congreagation
of Monessen.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband,
Domenico.
Survivors include six sons, Peter and Nick CARROZZA,
both of Belle Vernon, Robert Carrozza of Spring Grove, Anthony Carrozza
of Lancaster, Raymond Carrazzo of Paradise, Calif., and Henry Carrozza
of Blairsville; tow daughters, Mrs. Chester (Eleanor) DOUTRICH of Lancaster
and Mrs. Kenneth (Elaine) MILLER of Christiana; 26 grandchildren
and 29 great grandchildren.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial
service will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, Monessen.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

charge of arrangements.

John A. Wilson of 507 Connellsville St., Fayette
City, died suddenly yesterday at 8:40 a.m. at his residence. He was
62.
Mr. Wilson was born Jan 6, 1915, in Vespa, a son
of the late Albert and Annabelle RICKARD Wilson.
He was retired from Tygart Steel Co., McKeesport,
as an electrical maintenainceman.
A veteran of World War II having served in the U.S.
Navy, he was a member of the Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 393, Fredericktown.
Survivors include his widow, Imogene COPE Wilson;
a son, Dennis Wilson of Albany Ga., a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Linda) EVANS
of Monongahela R.D. 1; a brother Willis Wilson of Carnegie, and two granchildren.

Mrs. Carrie C. Wise, 318 Sheppard Ave., North Charleroi,
died at her home suddenly Saturday, November 19, at 8:30 p.m.
She was born in Fallowfield Township August
18, 1878, a daughter of David R. Phillips and Alice WRIGHT Phillips.
She had spent her entire life in Washington County.
She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus
Cgrist of Later Day Saints of North Charleroi.
She is survived by her husband, John Wise; one son,
Harold H. of Kirkland, O.; two daughters, Mrs. Henry WINSHIP of North Charleroi
and Mrs. Clarence WINSHIP of North Charleroi; one sister, Mrs. Viola CHESTER
of Uniontown and 12 grandchildren.
George ZIPPAY, aged 81 years, who resided on a farm
in Charleroi R.D. for the past 40 years, died February 20 at 9:30 p.m.,
after an illness of over two years. He came to America 50 years ago
from Czecho-Slovakia. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran
church, Charleroi and Charleroi Lodge S. E. U. 46.
Surviving are his wife, Anna; four sons, George
Jr., John D., and Joseph, all of Charleroi R.D., and Andrew, Monongahela;
four daughters, Mrs. anna MELUCH, Charleroi R.D., Mrs. Mary BELLIAN, Ellwood
City, Mrs. Ella CHESMAR, Charleroi, Mrs. Helen BATES, Pittsburgh.
There are 17 great grandchildren.
