Will of James Donaldson (1892) of Allen Township
WILL OF JAMES DONALDSON
Dec. 21st, 1892 affidavit of Catherine Donaldson filed whereby it appears
that James Donaldson, late of Allen Twp. died on the 13th day of Dec.,
1892, between the hours of eight and nine o'clock, P. M.
I James Donaldson, farmer of Allen Township, Washington County ,
Pennsylvania do make and publish this last Will and Testament. First,
I direct that my body be decently interred ni the burying ground at Mount
Tabor and that my funeral be conducted ni a manner corresponding with my
estate and situation ni life.
And as to such worldly estate as I may be possessed of, dispose of the
same as follows. First I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses
be paid as soon after my decease as possible out of the first moneys that
shall come into the hands of my Executors. Second, I give and devise
unto my beloved wife Catherine the full and entire proceeds of all my estate,
both real and personal for and during all ___ of her natural life, saving
and reserving only the bequests hereafter named. It is my will that
my Executors shall ___ at interest the sum of nine thousand dollars ($9000.00)
and same Interest or proceeds thereof be equally exfunded for the maintenance
and education of my three youngest children, namely Griffith Donaldson,
Magie Donaldson and Maud Donaldson, during their minority after which my
wife, if living, shall enjoy the same during the remainder of her lifetime.

....To my son James Nesley Donaldson the sum of Four hundred Dollars ($400.00)
. To my daughter, Allie, the sum of Three hundred Dollars ($300.00).
I also give to my son Griffith a horse now in my keeping known by the name
of "Fanny". To Allie, a horse now in my keeping known as "Daisy".
To my son John William Donaldson, I give the sum of One hundred Dollars
($100.00) which sum with other amounts already given him I deem equal to
the bequest before mentioned to my other children. It is my will
and wish that those several bequests be paid as soon after my decease as
may be convenient. It is my further will that at the decease of my
wife Catherine before named, all my estate shall be settled up and
equally divided share and share alike to each of my children or their surviving
heirs. (And I do hereby make and ordain my dear wife Catherine and
my friend William Berryman of Washington Pa, executors of this my last
Will and Testament.)
In witness whereof, I James Donaldson the testator have to this will set
my hand and seal this 10th day of December, ni the year of our Lord, 1892

Signed sealed by the above named James Donaldson and by him published and
declared as and for his Last Will and Testament ni the presence of us who
have hereunto set our names in his presence and in the presence of each
other.

Be it remembered, that upon this 21st day of Dec. 1892 before me J. B.
Kennedy, Register for the Probate of Wills and Granting Letters of Administration
within and for said county, came David Nicholas and Wm. Kraft the subscribing
witnesses to the foregoing attached Will of James Donaldson, deceased who
after being duly qualified according to law, depose and say: That
they were present at the execution of said Will, saw the testator sign
the same, heard him publish it as and for his last Will and testament:
that they at his request, in his presence, and in the presence of each
other, subscribed their names thereto as witnessed.

And now, Dec. 21, 1892 it being adjudged that said Will has been duly proved
Letters are issued to Catherine Donaldson and William Berryman is said
testament named who were duly qualifies by.
