NC COX LINE - SECOND GENERATON JOHN COX Born: abt 1730 Died: 7-7-1760 Pasquotank Co NC Parents: Unknown Married: on 2-4-1756 to Jemima Gilbert at Perquimans Co. NC, dau of Josiah Gilbert and Sarah Williams. After John's death, she wed 2nd in Pasquotank Monthly Meeting on 2-3-1763 when it was reported she was disowned for marrying out of society. Jemima is mentoned in her father's will as Jemima Cox. Children: 1. John Cox b. abt 1757 in Pasquotank Co NC, d. 9 Oct 1807 Suttons Creek, Pasq. Co.NC. He m. Mariam Morris, dau of Joseph Morris on 9-26-1782. They transferred membership to Core Sound MM in 1792. They had: Joseph 7-25-1783; Jeremiah 6-12-1785; Jemima b. 8-13-1787, d. 9-29-1788; Jacob; John and Josiah (twins); Aaron and Mary (twins) b. 1-20-1795; and Caleb. 2. Sarah Cox b. 1757-60. She requested a certificate to Core Sound MM in 1792. 3. William Cox b. 1757-60, m. Elizabeth Thomas on 11-29-1794 in Bush River SC. She b. 9-23-1773 dau of Isaac Thomas and Mary Davies. Elizabeth d. after 1816. William m. 2nd to Nancy (Osborn) Mills, and 3rd Laura Owen. Children: (1) Jemima 1795-1861 m. Samuel Jackson;(2) William; (3) Thomas m. Elizabeth Macy 1836; (4) Joseph 1816-1849 m. Hester Mills. They had dau Elizabeth (Cox) Thomas who wrote letter in 1910 in my possession about her ancestors; (5) John; (6) Elizabeth m.
