Birth: 1698 in Wurtenburg,Germany
Death: BEF 12 APR 1757 in Pennsylvania
Note: Was a miller in village of Oberdigisheim, in Chief Bailiwick of Balingen,between Tubingen and Rottweil, on road from Zurich to Stuttgart, in Swabia. Arrived at Philadelphia on ship Osgood on 29 Sep 1750. Marriagemay have been his second. Purchased 128 1/2 acres in Earl Twp., Lancaster Co., from Patrick Baird. His widow paid off the mortgage on the land in1757 after his death.

Samuel was raised in Stark Co. and Montgomery Co. OH. Samuel and Mary resided in Huntington Co. IN per the 1850 Census. Known children are from this census. Unknown dates of death on either of them, but both probably in Huntington Co IN.

Note: 1850 census also lists Josephus as 19, a farmer, which would make him b. ca 1830/31. However, LDS has file saying he was b. 20 Jul 1839. That would make him 11 at the time of the census taking. I do not think they would list him as a farmer at that age. I do believe he was b. abt 1830/31. possibly Jul 20th. This record also gives his place of death.
HARTER LINE - FIFTH GENERATION
ENOCH HARTER was b. 14 Mar 1825 in Montgomery Co. OH, the son of Samuel Harter and Mary Antrim. According to Wabash Co. IN Marr. Book A, pg 176, Enoch m. LORINDA JENKS on 16 Oct 1850. She was b. 16 May 1827 in Franklin or Rush Co. IN. Enoch and Lorinda came by train with their family from Wabash Co IN to Nebraska after 1880. According to Aunt Mabel Harter Flint, he had all his money in his vest pocket. The pocket was slit open, how is not known. They were stern, hardworking farm people. Enoch d. 26 Feb 1895, Lorinda in 30 Dec 1915 in Hastings, Adams Co NE. They are both buried in West Inland Cemetery, in Inland, Clay Co. NE. Enoch and Lorinda were the parents of:

HARTER LINE - SIXTH GENERATION
JOSEPHUS HARTER
Fourth child of Enoch and Lorinda (Jenks) Harter was b. 16 Mar 1856 in Wabash Co. IN. He was m. 7 Nov 183 in NE to Ella Jane Ramsey, daughter of William Pym Ramsey and Eliza McConnell. Ella Jane was b. 4 Dec 1856 in PA, probably Franklin Co. Josephus d. 19 Dec 1933 in Aurora, Hamilton Co NE and is buried in Aurora. Ella d. 19 Feb 1925, also buried in Aurora.
They lived on ranches near Burwell and Taylor NE, moving to a farm near Archer about 1900. This is where they lived when their daughter, Cliffie June was wed in 1907. After Josephus and Ella Jane sold the farm, they spent their last years in Aurora.

Her remains were cremated. James was b. 25 Dec 1884 in Clay Co IA, he d. 2 Jul 1954 in Laramie WY when returning from a trip to Iowa back to his home in California. James m. 2nd Jennette Mae Cummins (Marshall, Bickley.) The children of James and Cliffie were:
