These families were in Morgan & Lawrence Cos, AL; 
several of the daughters never married and had children 
who went by the Pate name. 
In power of attorney by Thomas Pate and David R Pate (sons
of Jeremiah), they appoint Jeremiah Pate "to collect legacy 
due me as one of the heirs of Rhoda Pait, dau of Thomas 
Pait of Cocke Co, TN, and coming to me out of the estate 
of Thomas Pait." Does anyone know how these families are 
connected?
Jeremiah is also possibly connected to the Mathew Pate 
in Greene Co, TN - does anyone have information?
