CALTON Family Genealogy
The first Calton we have found was Blake Carlton about 1750 in Virginia. It seems that the family moved from Virginia to North Carolina, then to Tennessee and from there to the various locations where descendants are now located.
Some of the Carlton families apparently dropped the "r" from the name making it "Calton". Another alternate spelling used in Carleton. I will be adding Carleton information soon.
My line is one of those that use the Calton spelling. As time goes on you will find at this page pictures of all the Calton families that I have, a Calton GED file for searching to see if you or your ancestors are located here, various stories and information about the Calton family.
Much of the early research of this family was done by Robert Davidson and information from the 1981 Calton Family History book written by Mr. & Mrs F. Calton. The information on the later generations came from my immediate family and also from information submitte by various Calton family members.
