Baldwin, Ikey Lee

Ikey Lee Baldwin, 80, of Little Rock died Tuesday, August 10, 1999.
He was a retired chief real estate appraiser with Farmers Home Administration and member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees 94 and Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty Dean Baldwin of Little Rock; one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Janis Baldwin of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Joseph Baldwin, Matthew Baldwin, Stephanie Baldwin and Jessica Baldwin; one brother, John Baldwin of Little Rock; and one sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte Baldwin and Albert Newkirk of Jessieville.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home chapel, Hot Springs.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hot Springs.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to church of donor's choice or the American Cancer Society.

Ballard, Lois Freda Collins

Lois Freda Ballard of Benton died Tuesday, June 11, 1996. She was 77. she was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Benton. Survivors include her husband, J. B. Ballard; a son, Gary Ballard; two daughters, Peggy Ballard Butler of Benton and Jimmie Sue Nelson of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Pauline Cochran of Benton; and 5 grandchildren, Laura Butler of Benton, Rachel Butler of Boston, Massachusetts, Amy Nelson of Fort worth, Brandi Ballard of Bryant and Mason Ballard of San Diego, California. Funeral will be at 2 pm Friday at the First Assembly of God Church with interment in McPherson Cemetery on Salt Creek Road. The Rev. Larris Davis will officiate. Barnette, Eppie Dean Harris

Eppie D. Barnette, age 95, of Benton, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017. She was born March 27, 1921, in Benton, Arkansas. Mrs. Barnette was a retired cafeteria worker for the Benton Public Schools and a member of Grape Chapel Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Bessie Harris; husband, Walker Elson Barnette; brothers, J.T. Harris, Charlie Harris and Roscoe Harris; sister, Betty Harris; son-in-law, Phillip Neighbors; granddaughter, Charlotte Dean Barnette Low and an infant grandson.
She is survived by a son, Johnny Barnette (Joy) of Arbuckle, California; two daughters, Rose Neighbors and Ann Woodall (David) all of Benton; sister, Ruby James Nalley of Benton; seven grandsons, Todd Neighbors, James Walker Neighbors, Cass Neighbors and Chet Woodall all of Benton, Dustin Barnette of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Nicholas Barnette of Lehi, Utah and Brian Barnette of Reno, Nevada and twenty great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 20 at Ashby Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 21 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Smith Rosemont Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Bean, Jerry Don

Jerry Don Bean, age 66 of Jessieville, Arkansas passed away March 8, 2016. He was born May 23, 1949, to Frank Bean and Velma (Blythe) Bean in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Jerry Don loved to fish, deer hunt, and was a huge sports fan, especially when the Razorbacks were on television. He was kind, never met a stranger and would do for others before he would do anything for himself.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Billy Bean. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Donna Bean; two brothers, Charles Bean (Dewanna) of Jessieville, Bobby Bean (Sue) of Hot Springs; sister, Shirley Noles (Ollie) of Jessieville, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 13, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Caruth Village Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. also at Caruth Village Funeral Home. [from Caruth-Hale Funeral Home online obituary]

Bean, Velma Lorene Blythe

Velma L. Bean
Velma Lorene Bean, 75, of Hot Springs died Sunday, July 16, 1995, in a local hospital.
She was born October 3, 1991, in Hollis, was a homemaker and member of Valley Home Missionary Church.
Survivors include four sons, Charles Bean, Billy Bean and Jerry Don Bean, all of Jessieville, and Bobby Bean of Hot Springs; one daughter, Shirley Noles of Jessieville; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Bill Davis officiating.
Pallbearers will be Chad Noles, Billy Bean Jr., Brian Keith Bean, Trent Speers, Eric Coburn and Ollie Noles.
Burial will be in Nooner Cemetery by Caruth Village Funeral Home.

Bean, William Elbert

Jessieville - William Elbert Bean, 55, of Jessieville died Sunday, November 2, 1997, in a local hospital.
Born April 12, 1942, at Hollis, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Jessieville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Faye Bean of Jessievile; one son, William Elbert Bean, Jr., of Jessieville; two daughters, Crystal Bean and Amanda Bean, both of Jessieville; three brothers, Charles Bean and Jerry Don Bean, both of Jessieville, and Bobby Bean of Mountain Valley; and one sister, Shirley Noles of Jessieville.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at Jessieville Baptist Church with Brother Eugene Anderson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brian Keith Bean, Eric Coburn, Chad Noles, Wayne Ballard, Chris Wright, Jimmy Taylor, Trent Speers and Allen Taylor. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Jessieville. Following the burial there will be a dinner for all those that would like to attend. Visitation will be today at 443 Blakely Camp Road in Jessieville prior to the services.

Bewley, Jack Wendle

Jack Bewley, 59, of Brookland, Arkansas, died Wednesday 30 July 2003, at St. Bernard Medical Center. He was born 17 June 1944 in Russellville, Arkansas. Mr. Bewley lived in the Jonesboro, Arkansas, area most of his life. He served in the U. S. Navy.
Survivors include: two sons, Michael Bewley of Sikeston, Missouri, Jason Bewley of South Bend, Indiana; two daughters, Gayla Clayton of Sikeston, Missouri, Teresa Bewley of South Bend, Indiana; six brothers, Sonny, John and buster of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Hubert Bewley of Matthews, Missouri and Tom Bewley of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; three sisters Janice Carter of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Cricket Baker and Josetta Brandy of Jonesboro; six grandchildren. Bewley, Robert Cecil "Bigun"

Robert Cecil "Bigun" Bewley of Waverly, Kansas, 61, passed peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, September 4, 2009, at the Kansas City Hospice House.
He was born on July 2, 1948, in Russellville, to Aaron Vester Bewley, Jr., and Hilda Marriott-Bewley.
Robert's love and generosity for his family and numerous friends was endless. He was deeply involve din his stepchildren, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren's lives. He was their champion. Robert left this life with one last act of love and kindness by giving the gift of sight through a donation to the Heartland Lyon Eye Bank.
By trade Robert was a pipefitter, carpenter, and horseman. He was involved in many associations including the Coffee County Rural Water Board, American Quarter Horse, National Cutting Horse, and United States Team Roping Championships. In addition, he was a long-time supporter of both Kansas and Arkansas High School Rodeo. His love for horses was shared with everyone he knew. Robert worked with prominent horse trainers: Jack Newton, Lanny Ashley, Cletus Hulling, John Wilkins, David Kerr, and Bob Hurley. He cowboyed for Nolke Ranch in West Texas, and Mescalero Apache reservation in New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Vester Bewley, Jr.; stepfather, Wilbert Combs; stepsister, Ruth Branch; and brother, Steve Beweley.
Robert is survived by his wife, Nola Hively-Bewley; mother, Hilda Bewley-Combs; brother, Alan Bewley; stepbrother, Wes Combs; stepsisters, Eileen Coker, Louise King and Mary Hamilton; stepson, Seth Hively; stepdaughter, Angela Mohajir-Charlton; stepdaughter-in-law, Renee HIvely; stepson-in-law, Jerry Charlton; neices, Amanda and Jessica Bewley; nephews, Gary Wayne Bewley and James Darter; sister-in-law, Shawna Shepherd; grandchildren, Skyler and Rawlin Hively, and Jacob Mohajir; great-nephews, Brandon Bewley and Gavin Williams; and great-niece, Alexis Hargrove.
Two celebrations or Robert's life will be held. One on Friday, September 11, at 7 p.m. at the Saint francis Xavier Parish Hall, Burlington, Kansas. Followed by the other on Saturday, September 12, at 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Pottsville.

Bewley, Roy Arvel

Roy Arvel Bewley, age 94, of Russellville, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. A son of the late Robert Lee and Susie A. Davis Bewley, he was born July 5, 1915, in Atkins. He was retired from Arkansas Tech University where he was in charge of the ROTC Building maintenance, was United States Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Stella Marie Bewley, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Don Bewley and Judy Windham of Russellville; several brothers and sisters; three grandchildren: Steven Bewley and Robert Bewley, both of Russellville; land Michelle Overby of Benton; and three great-grandchildren: Sidney Overby and Lawson Overby, both of Benton; and Heather Bewley of Russellville.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2009, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Billy Ellis. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park by Shinn Funeral Service.

Biggs, Donald Ray

Donald Ray Biggs, 65, of Barling, Arkansas, passed away December 21, 2010. He was retired as owner/operator of Biggs Dump Truck Service and was a man of Christian faith. Donald was born April 1, 1945, in Subiaco, Arkansas, to Elmer Lee and Atha Mitchael Biggs. His life reflected the term, "true blue collar worker", as he worked tirelessly to build a very successful business to provide for his family. After he retired he enjoyed "bartering" at garage sales, as well as spending time with his horses. The love of his life was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years; Lucy of Barling, Arkansas; two sons, Stan Biggs and his wife Edie, of Barling, Arkansas, and Travis Biggs and his wife Sarah, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; sisters; Jane Parks of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Jeanetta Ray of Lavaca, Arkansas; three brothers; Al, Jerry, and Larry Biggs, all of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three grandchildren; Karlie, Haley, and Allie Biggs all of Barling Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer "Bud" and Irene Biggs, and also preceded by his brother, Steve Biggs.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 24, 2010, at East Side Baptist Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Stan, Travis, Al, Larry, and Jerry Biggs, and William "Curley" Daniel.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Dean Scharbor, Dewayne Hanna, Billy Ray Brown, William Slate, and Buddy Baughman.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 23, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.

Black, Don Maurice

Pocatello, Idaho - Don Maurice Black, 68, of Pocatello, Idaho, died Friday, October 8, 1999.
Born August 2, 1931, in Hot Springs to William Arthur and Myrtle Brown Black, he was a graduate of Hot Springs High School and Weber College, a U.S. Air Force veteran, a retired electrician and member of IBEW 449 and Highland Men's Golf Association. He was predeceased by two brothers, Samuel Arthur Black and Franklin Roosevelt Black; three sisters, Jeanette Black Garner, Betty Joe Black and Ruth Margaret Black; and a grandson, Milo Maurice Black.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Black; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda Kay Black of Pocatello, Idaho, Cindy Ann Black of Elko, Nevada, Barbara and Pat Ayling of Boise, Idaho, and Susan Black and Sy Stras of West Valley City, Utah; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Don and Paulette Black of Atlanta, Mark William Black and Brian Lynn Black, both of Pocatello, Idaho; a brother, Thomas Black of Hot Springs; two sisters, Lavern Gwyn of Brinkley and Martha Jean Richardson of Dallas; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Black of Houston and Myrna Lou Black of Hot Springs; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces; and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at LDS Second Ward Chapel, Pocatello, Idaho.
Burial with full military honors by the Pocatello Veteran's Honor Guard will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Edgar Boeck, 76, beloved, husband, father and grandfather passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009. He was born March 7, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents Paul and May Boeck. He is survived by his wife Lois; sons, Dennis Boeck and wife Joyce and Rick A. Boeck; his daughter Cindy Moya and husband Steve; grandchildren Candice, Samantha, Jake, Adam, Tracy and Kelly. Anna L. “Boots” Bruce Bolt, 82, of Benton, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 in Benton.
She was born April 15, 1926 in Haskell, Arkansas to the late Fred Barto and Narrie (Wilson) Bruce.
She lived all her life in Saline County and “Granny Bootsie” will be missed by all her loved one and many friends. She loved taking care of her family and her chickens.
Besides her parents, she is preceded by her husband, Clyde Bolt; one brother, Charlie Bruce and one sister, Opal Tompkins.
Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Powell of Iuka, MS, Narrie and husband, Kenneth Lawson of Benton; three brothers, Fred Bruce, Jr. and Jerrel Bruce, both of Benton and Bobby Bruce of Texarkana, AR; two sisters, LoLa Eades of Texarkana, AR and Doris Tanner; five grandchildren, Susan Compton, John Powell, Justin Powell of MS, Wesley Lawson of Social Hill, James Lawson of Beebe; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Bradley, Sally Ann Witham

Sally Ann Bradley, 60, of Buckville, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer Wednesday, November 2, 2011. She was born July 10, 1951 in Benton, Arkansas, to the late William Fred and Jewell Lee (Sanders) Witham. Sally married Dean Bradley Jr. July 11, 1969.
She was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church; worked in office management in the medical field; was president of Buckville Church and Cemetery Association; worked in Girl Scouts and on the PTO Board at Jessieville Schools; liked to cook, crochet and make hair bows; and loved Christmas and vacations. Sally Ann will most be remembered as being very loyal, loving and giving to all of her family and friends - a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother William Fred Witham Jr.; father-in-law Wilburn Dean Bradley Sr.; and sister-in-laws Terri Bradley and Shelley Stout-Pharis.
Sally Ann is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Dean Bradley Jr. of Buckville; was the loving mother to John Bradley (Heather) of Buckville, Johnny Scott (Kelly) of Malvern, Carrie Roberts (Jared), Melissa Willis (Doug) all of Buckville, Mary Dover (Seth) Bismarck, Alexys Bradley and Elyjah Bradley of Buckville; loving grandmother to Emilee Hughes, Kirstyn Willis, Kelsea Hughes, Alex Bradley, Madison Willis, Dakota Willis, Ely Bradley, Zac Bradley, Faith Dover and Cooper Dover; mother-in-law Wilma Bradley of Hot Springs; sister Martha McElrath of Hot Springs; brothers James Pharis of Buckville and Billy Witham of Forest City; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Bratton officiating. Interment will follow in Buckville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Bob Ramsey, Sam Hayre, Buddy Burks, Keith Blocker, Wade Harrell, Ed DePriest, Josh Lambert and Mitch Tipton.

Bragg, Dorothy Rachel Robinette

Dorothy Rachel Bragg of Benton died today. She was 84.
She was a homemaker, a member of First United Methodist Church in Benton and the Florence Ashby Sunday School Class and a former member of the Saline County Home Demonstration Club.
Survivors are her husband, Milton Earl Bragg; two daughters, Dorothy Moore and Barbara Campbell of Benton; five grandchildren, Michael Moore of Arlington, Texas, Timothy Moore of Arlington, Virginia, Barbara Moore of Dallas, Texas, Jan Moore of Champagne, Illinois, and Chuck Campbell of Benton; three great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Ryan and Meredith Moore of Arlington, Texas; six sisters, Evelyn Moore of Benton, Nora Rowland of Little Rock, Agnes Wooden of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Opal Johnson of Waco, Texas, Ann Skaggs of Abliene, Texas, and Naomi Fletcher of Sand Point, Idaho.

Britt, Evelyn Loraine Matthews

Evelyn M. Britt, 87, of Fort Smith died Thursday, January 8, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a retired realtor for Britt Realty and retired manager of Gaslight Gifts in Central Mall. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mires Britt, Sr., and a son, Carl Mires Britt II. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with graveside service 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Ludington and her husband Samuel R. Ludington, Jr., of Fort Smith and Jo Claire Emerson and her husband Jim Emerson of La Mesa, California; two sisters, Lola M. Hays of Hot Springs and Cathryn Harrison of Springdale; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Brooks, William Alan

William Alan Brooks, 42 of Ward passed away Sunday, December 7, 2008, at his home. He was born February 14, 1966 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to William R. and Brenda Locke Brooks. He graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1983. He attended and received a degree from Southern Technical College in computer aid drafting. Since 1998 William has been employed with McClellan Engineering of Little Rock.
He is survived by his mother and step father, Brenda and Charles Tyler of Jacksonville; father and stepmother, William and Dorothy Brooks of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, John and Maresha Brooks of Little Rock; step brother, Shawn Tyler of Truman, Arkansas; step sister, Bridgett Tyler Roe of Sherwood; maternal grandfather, Virgil W. Locke of Corning, Arkansas; nephew, Kray Brooks of Little Rock; aunt, Tina Callahan of Pocahontas.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008, at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Wiggs officiating. Interment will follow at Sumner Cemetery. Brown, Adrian Jennings

Adrian Jennings Brown died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at home.
Born December 2, 1947, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Andrew Jennings “Jack” Brown and Patricia Soward Brown.  He was predeceased by his father.
He was a graduate of Hot Springs High School class of 1965. He served in the 173D Airborne Brigade in the Republic of Vietnam during the period of August 1967 to August 1968. He received the parachute Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Expert M14, Sharpshooter M16, Vietnam Campaign Medal and two overseas bars. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces at the battle of Hue during the Tet offensive of 1968. He attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and graduated from Henderson State University in 1992 receiving a degree in Business Administration. He lived and worked in Dallas, Texas, for many years before returning to Hot Springs. His last employment was with RGIS.
Survivors include the love of his life and soulmate Patsy Gartin, his mother Patricia Ann Soward Brown, his sister Sherry Kaye Phillips, his brother and wife Drew and Susan Brown of Hot Springs; his niece and husband and two great nephews Tricia, Chris, Nick and Jake Moppin of New Braunfels, Texas, along with Terry Gartin and daughter Jessica Gartin, Kent and Michea and their sons Michael and Logan Gartin of Benton, Arkansas, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Donald "D. A." Brown, 83, of Hot Springs, died December 22, 2009. He was born July 6, 1926, in Hot Springs to Andy and Janice (Morris) Brown. He was a member of New Salem United Methodist Church. He was a former Hot Springs fireman and policeman. He was a member of Texas VFW District 21 where he served as state judge advocate, district commander, post commander, and district quartermaster. He was a retired electrician for Mary Kay Cosmetics in Dallas, Texas.
Loving survivors include his wife of 59 years, Alma Nell (Soward) Brown, two sons, Gerald D. Brown and wife, Vicky, of Coppell, Texas; and John G. Brown, and wife, Tracy, of Hot Springs; daughter, Elizabeth D. Mabelvale - Geneva May Brown, 77, of Mabelvale died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at her home.
Born April 19, 1922, at Hot Springs she was predeceased by her parents, William and Viola Riley Burris.
Survivors include her husband, David Brown, Sr., of Mabelvale; four sons, David Brown, Jr., of North Little Rock, Billy Joe Brown of Mabelvale, Eldon Curtis Brown of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Don Wayne Brown of Fairbanks, Alaska; one brother, Bill Burris of Carthage, Mississippi; two sisters, Pauline Rhiddlehoover of Bismarck and Levina Pittman of Hot Springs; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Scott Cemetery, Mountain Pine.

Brown, Martha Jo Collins

Martha "Marty" Brown, 82, of Hot Springs passed with peace and grace on January 7, 2016. She was born on March 26, 1933, in Hot Springs to the late John "Rip" and Etta Collins.
Marty was a member of First Christian Church where she also served as an Elder and sang in the choir. She graduated from Hot Springs High School and continued to be active well after graduation by helping to plan numerous high school reunions. She spent over 30 years as a homeroom mom and PTA member.
A master with needlework; she enjoyed sewing, needlepoint and especially knitting prayer shawls. Marty could recreate a piece of clothing just by looking at it. Marty retired from Mid-South Engineering. She loved to travel and play bridge. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha and loved it immensely!
Waiting for her in heaven are her husband, James "J.O." Brown and brother, Virgil C. Collins.
Her loving survivors include daughters, Shelly Clifft (Dennis), Christi Oliver (John) and Julie Allard; grandchildren, Matt Clifft (Erin), James Oliver (Reagan), Anna Claire Oliver, Michael Allard and Grace Allard; sister, Alice Brawner and a host of special friends and extended family.

Stanley Lee Brown, 78, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, September 12, 2000, at Lakewood Nursing Home. He was born December 23, 1921, in Hawes, Arkansas, to Thomas H. Brown and Mary Loretta Brady.
He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Herbert and Willis Brown, and one sister, Gladys Godwin.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances E. Our beloved mother, Syble E. Brown, of Hot Springs, Arkansas was called home by her Lord on March 21, 2010. She was born September 1, 1924. She is predeceased by her husband, Clarence J. Brown, her parents, Martin L. (Luther) Meek and Sarah Frances (Sally) Meek; five sisters, Rena Frazier, Ena Eckard, Eva Wright Singleton, Lena Frazier, Bonnie Powers; and two brothers, Henry Meek and Hilbert Meek.
Loving survivors include one daughter - Elaine Clark and husband Richard; one son - Doug Brown and wife Penny; two grandsons - Chris Collum and wife Oak Thi and Steve Brown; three granddaughters - Sonya Turner and husband James, Alicia Brown, Malinda Rood and husband Andrew; two great grandsons - Grant Long and Matt Collum and wife Patricia; six great granddaughters – Kasey Davis, Kristin Collum, Alex Golden, Marissa Brown, Cassie Snow and Kylie Rood; one great-great granddaughter - Riley Collum and one great-great grandson - Ville Long along with a number of nephews and nieces.

Brown Services Conducted in Finley Church
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Odtober 17 in the Finley Church of Christ for Tom J. brown, 85, Antlers, who died in an Antlers hospital Tuesday, preceding the funeral.
He was born in Arkansas, August 28, 1884.
Mr. Brown is survived by his widow Minnie of the home; four sons: Arvell and Dan Brown of Finley; Sam Brown of Grand Prairie, Texas, and T. J. Brown of Ellenwood, Kansas; five daughters: Mary Balmain, Finley, Loy LaFever, Cannon City, Colorado; Gladys Cranford, Irving, Texas, Lola May martin, and Thelma Cranford both of Hobbs, New Mexico.
He is also survived by many grandchildren and one sister, Betty Taylor of Oklahoma City.

James (Bob) Robert Burkes, 59, of Hot Springs, passed away on July 10, 2015. He is the son of the late Calvin and Donna Burkes.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Burkes.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Brenda D. Burkes; son, John Bradford Burkes and wife Bri; daughter, Tanya Michelle Burkes Cooley and fiancé Raul Castillo; sisters, Marilyn Armstrong and Suzanne Kiesel; step-dad, Harold Burroughs; six grandchildren, Cheyanne, Calvin, Blaize, Breaden, Tyler, and Gabby (Isabell).

Helen Marie Burks of Benton died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Baptist Medical Center. She was 80.
She was born July 24, 1922, in Owensville, Arkansas, to the William Frank and Effie George Reese.
She was a member of First Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School throughout her life, served as Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, was a member and former president of the Saline County Democratic Women's Club where she was very active, was a member of the Saline County Retired Steel Workers of American having served as treasurer and vice president, and had served as past president of PTA and an active member in Band Club. She was also Saline County's chairman of Jimmie Lou Fisher's campaign for state treasurer and had hosted the Saline County reception for Bill Clinton for governor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dominic Romano Jr. and Virgil Burks; sister, Ruby Collier, and brothers, Charles Nooks Reese and James Boots Reese.
Survivors include sons, Donned Burks of Benton and Michael Burks of Macon, Georgia; daughters, Cindy Phillips of Conway, Susie Trace and husband Terry of Torrent, Connecticut, Gail Owensville and husband Larry of Benton, and Jan Dieter and husband Don of Sanders, Georgia; grandchildren, Sean Dyer, Christian Dyer, Jerome Corvette, Shannon Eddins, John Phillips, Justin Phillips, Rob Brewer, Matt Trace, Michaela Burks; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Rufus Reese of Ulysses, Kansas, and Fred Reese of Huge, Arkansas, and sister Eloise Kemp of Chidden.

Seven Points, Texas - Orpha Burks of Seven Points, Texas, formerly of Owensville, Arkansas, died Friday. She was 87.

Survivors are her daughter, Ernestine Howard of Seven Points; a brother, Eugene Tillery of Dallas; a sister, Jewell Watson of Arlington, and numerous other relatives.

White Hall - Melba C. Burton, 86, of White Hall, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009, in an area hospital. She was born September 9, 1923, in Gravel Hill, Arkansas, to Omer and Ethel Ewell Tittle. Melba was previously employed sitting with the elderly and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hot Springs.
Survivors are one daughter, Debbie Harris (Jim) of White Hall; one brother, C. O. Tittle (Bea), of Maumelle; two grandchildren, Brett Harris (Susan), of White Hall, and Laura Cummings (Jeff), of Pine Bluff; and one great-grandchild, Bailey Harris.
Predeceased by husband of 52 years, Aaron V. Burton; one granddaughter, Carrie Harris; one brother, Duffie Tittle; and four sisters, Ruby McClamrock, Dot Driggers, Dorothy Turbyfill and Lois Bunt.
A private family service was held at her bedside.
