Jackson, Glendol
Glendol Jackson, 79, of Benton, died June 23, 2010. He was a 1949 graduate of Benton High School and a Korean War Veteran, serving in the Navy Fleet Logistic Air Wing Pacific. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Men's Sunday School Class. Glendol married Geraldine Green on June 27, 1951. He retired as a thirty-four year employee of the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, reaching the position of Chief Right-of-Way. Glendol was an avid camper and very active in the Boy Scouts of America, serving as Cubmaster and then Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 53. He was the District Chairmen of the Nischa Sipo District for three years and Silver Beaver recipient. The father and grandfather of four Eagle Scouts.
Glendol was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Glen Jackson, his parents, Alonzo John Jackson and Willie Thomas Jackson, brother, Leonard Otis Jackson, sister, Winnie Mann, grandparents, Ashael Still Jackson, Susanne Rogers Jackson, William Lee Thomas, and Sarah Ann Frances Leatherwood of Benton, Arkansas.
Survivors, wife, Geraldine Jackson, daughter, Karen Jackson Breitweiser Grace and husband, Gerald, son, John Floyd Jackson and wife, Pam, three grandchildren, Clayton Wayne Breitweiser and wife, Kristy Red-Horse, Denise Breitweiser Hart and husband, Eric, Rustin Grant Jackson, two great great grandchildren, Carley Zoie Rose Hart and Drake Red-Horse Breitweiser, his loyal companion, his dog, Rebel, nieces, Ernestine Chenault and Jocelyn Ann Mendoza.
Church Services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Benton with Dr. Victor Green officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Alexander.
Visitation will be at Ashbys, Sunday, 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

James, Willie B. "Pot"
Willie B. "Pot" James, Sr., of Benton died Tuesday, March 5, 2002. He was 82.
He was born September 27, 1919, in Benton to Wess Jerome and May Glass James. He was an Air Force veteran of four years, serving with the 35th Infantry Carrier in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He worked as an airplane mechanic for various airlines and worked for Lockheed Missile and Space Co. (now Lockheed-Martin) for 30 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Benton Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam James and Herbert James.
Survivors include three sons, Willie B. James, Jr., of Benton, John James of Haywood, California, and Scott James of Freemont, California; a daughter, Debbie James of Benton; a brother, Joe James of Benton; two sisters, Fern Lovell of Benton and Ethel Giuntini of West Memphis; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton.
Burial will follow at Kentucky Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, telephone 315-4047.
