I arrived at Pitt Meadows early and had a wonderful time with our new grandson
~ Adam(aged 6 Months now)
.....Crawling and cutting a tooth....

Excited to began the journey of meeting unknown kin and friends
I have made over the net via genealogy for the last two years....

It is about a 45 minute drive into Vancouver from where I was staying and the traffic never dies down there...

Arriving at the location of Chris's apartment building was very enlighting to say the least. After driving around for a half hour, I called her from my cellphone and she met me outside her apartment's front door and escorted me to her underground visitors parking.....

Chris and I arrived inside and I introduced myself to everyone who was there already,
Shirley and George Goos, Erv and Ruth Cross, these two couples came from Vancouver Island.
Chris our hostess who is a very imformative lady, was busy with Shirley & Erv gathering charts and info for everyone.
I was the 6th one to arrive, then Holly Cowan from Sicamous came and joined us.
Sicamous is located about an hour to the East of me(I live in Kamloops B.C.)
Next came Norma Bouteillier from Burnaby B.C.
Missed you Gordon Watts(Gordon forgot the right weekend. Next year Gordon I will remind you!)

When I arrived I was asked to put my charts up, which I did.
I found I was Erv Cross's 5th cousin once removed :)
I am related to Erv through the Boutilier and Slauenwhite line, and Norma through the Boutilier line.
I do believe I was related to everyone there but need to find my connection to Shirley. Could it be th VENIOT Line Shirley ?

Chris used her apartment building's extra roon which is right by the front door(no stairs to climb){grin}.
The excitement for me was wonderful, to finally meet those kin who leap out at me via my paper cache.

Ruth I enjoyed our conversation, you too George, while everyone one else was searching we had a pleasant chat{grin}.

We all brought food of course and Chris graciously supplied three different types of lasagna. (YUMMY).
My daughter had made spinach dip and carved out a space in a loaf of sourdough bread and filled it, adding a extra loaf of sourdough to dip into this wonderful mixture
(Thank you TerriLee) Yum-Yum.
There was enough food to feed many more smoked salmon, tomatoes, salad, bagels with cream cheese, lots of fruit etc.

Now, hopefully by telling you this ~ any Lunies that missed out this year will
(HOPEFULLY THERE WILL BE ANOTHER ONE NEXT YEAR)come to the next reunion.

I believe a good time was had by all. Am I right folks?
I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Chris Fretwell for hosting us and making us feel very welcome.

I would like also to say, I enjoyed meeting you all and do look forward to next year. Thank you everyone for making my world a happier place knowing I do have KIN after all..........

Pat (me) who sends HUGS to all my kin & cousins no matter how many times removed you are :) See you next year ...
