"Edinburgh Castle" the
focal point of the City, can be seen for many miles. Annually, during the
Edinburgh Festival, the "Military Tattoo" is performed nightly for three
weeks. This wonderful occasion is one
of the great visual and musical events in the world, showing the traditions
of Scotland's heritage. With massed pipes and drums, the finale is the
highlight of this great spectacle, delighting the thousands of visitors,
who flock to Scotland's capital City at this time. |
"Crofters Cottage"
Luib, Isle of Skye A most delightful journey back in time, one can imagine
how difficult day to day life was living in such cramped conditions.
This original house is filled with traditional furniture and other essential
items of the day. Once the most common housing on the island, the wall
cavity several feet wide was filled with earth for insulation.

"Highland
Cattle" are the most adorable cuddly looking beasties. Although the horns
give the appearance of being unfriendly, this dual purpose animal is usually
extremely docile.

While
we lived in Scotland, my Dad supported his "Hearts" for many years. In
1991, the Staff generously gave my brother Steven, Australian born
sister Karyn and myself permission to view first hand, but not stand
on the "Hearts Playing Ground" . This was an extremely emotional occasion
for the three of us taking in the very place our Dad had watched his Soccer
team. |
