St. John’s Anglican Cemetery is located on Hwy 206, overlooking Arichat Harbour.  The cemetery is associated with St. John’s Anglican Church and is located directly behind this historic church.  The cemetery is in very good condition and well-maintained.

The following is a transcription of legible gravestones in place as of August 12, 2004.  Remember, it is not a complete record of deaths in this parish, only remaining markers.  One might try the Isle Madame Historical Society to determine the location of St. John’s Parish Records.

Individuals buried together are single-spaced.  Anything double-spaced indicates the individual is buried alone.  With the exception of Remarks associated with Hazel Kane, all Remarks shown in this document appear on the gravestones of the deceased. Keep in mind that, although a spouse’s name may appear on a gravestone, it does not necessarily mean that the person is deceased.  Families often have stones made for both of them at the time of the first spouse’s death.
