Gene served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He was employed by Southwestern Bell as a telephone technician, from which he retired after over 36 years on Feb. 17, 1989. He relocated to Bella Vista, Arkansas, in August of 1999 from Houston, Texas. He enjoyed golfing, listening to music and singing, gardening, and flying – having received a private pilot license in the 1970’s.
