Edward served in the FRENCH & INDIAN WAR under Sir William Pepperrell.

In 1790 There were only two Peavey's listed in New Durham in 1790.

The first household was Joshua (Son of Edward)(before 1774) and one other male in the house (before 1774). His wife Mary Buzzel (before 1790) was probably listed and six more females (before 1790) one of which may have been Lucy, his mother. With a birthdate for Joshua and Mary of 1756 and a marriage date of 1779 the other male is most likely a brother and one of the other females was this brother's wife.

The second household was Benjamin (Son of Edward)(before 1774) and his wife Patience Davis (before 1790) as well as another female (before 1790). We are missing several children of Edward in the 1790 Census.

The females can't be located but it is possible that Lucy (Chandler) Peavey was living with Joshua along with several of her girls, unless Joshua and Mary had a number of young daughters by then. Joshua and Benjamin are listed in the census. William, Joseph L. Sr. and John are not listed anywhere. One of them could have been living with Joshua but Benjamin was the only male in his house. Joseph might have already been in Tuftonborough but there is no listing for him in that location unless he was living with one of the other early settlers in that area. There is a single male named John in the Portsmouth area in 1790 but there is no way of knowing who he is. There is no information on William although there is an unknown William in Barnstead. If there is a possible Edward Jr. Peavey, he is not listed anywhere.
