The following is copied from p. 25 of "The PEAVEY (PEVEY) Family," by Leroy D. Peavey, a 43 page paper on the family, written in the 1930s (obtained from: James Peva, [email protected]):

"... Anthony (3), was a very active real estate man. He bought land in Epping and Exeter, NH in 1747, and from then to 1753 is noted in many land transactions. During a part of this period, he was a defendant in a number of civil suits -- possibly over the vague land titles of those early days.

"In the early 50s, he lived in Epping, and in 1753 married Mary French of Hampton Falls, NH His son Jacob (4) was born 1754, and his son Anthony in 1756. Land records show him living at Exeter in 1754 to 1756, but in 1758 he is in New York, where he deeded land in South Hampton to Jacob French of that town."
