EASON
      SHADRACK EASON       Shadrack Eason was born 1774-75 in Pitt County NC, son of Isaac & Mary Eason. In the 1790 census Shadrack lived in Halifax District of Edgecomb County NC and had 4 sons, 4 daughters and 5 slaves. In the 1800 census he is in Johnston County NC and has 6 sons and 5 daughters.      In the 1820 census he is in Anson Co NC as Shadrick Eason and has 4 sons and 4 daughters at home. Prior to 1830 he moved to Henderson Co TN near Scotts Hill TN. this journey was made on foot with his possessions in an ox cart.       In the 1850 census he is in Decatur Co TN, age 75, wife Frances, age 68 and daughter, Mary, age 30.       His known children are: (1) Harris H Eason 1803 - 1859 (2) Armstead Eason 1808 - (3) Abner Eason 1810 - (4) Stephen Eason 1816 - 1894 (5) Fannie Eason who married Wm Massengill (6) Mary Eason 1820 - 1877.       In the 1860 census Shadrack is in Decatur Co TN, age 85.
      In the Decatur Co TN court minutes (vol 1 page 57, 60, 284, 357 and 397) Nov 2 1869 we find Shadrack Eason, Jr as witness to last will and testament of Shadrich Eason, deceased, presenting a copy of said will to the court. Stephen Eason and G B Davis were executors. Mary Eason was an heir with Stephen Eason as her guardian. April 2 1873 Stephen Eason gave bond as guardian of Mary Eason, of unsound mind and an heir of Shedrick Eason. CHESTER CO (TN) INDEPENDENT, March 8 1984.       Mr Eason Dies of self-inflicted gunshot wound.       Harmon Eason, 87, died Wednesday afternoon at his home near Henderson (TN) of a self inflicted gunshot wound according to Dr R L Wilson.       Mr Eason was a native of Chester Co, son of the late Jay and Nancy Cochran Eason. He served in France during WW I, and had farmed since retiring from service. He was a member of Clarks Creek Primitive Baptist Church.       He leaves his wife, Mrs Glennie Maness Eason; a half sister, Mrs Mary Ruth Howell of Jackson; two half brothers, Anderson Smith of Cullman AL, and Grady McEwin of Elizabethton TN; a grandson, John Eason of Virginia Beach VA and three great grandchildren.     Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Leon Johnson and Son Funeral Home with Elder Elmer Weaver and Elder R E Maughmer officiating. Burial was in Sweetlips Cemetery.   He was preceded in death by a sister, Vassie Jay Eason Jones and by a half sister, Vera Mae Smith Fringer.
      Robert Harmon Eason purchased a chance on a new FORD automobile at the county fair in the late 1940's and he won. He still had the car and was still driving it as his only vehicle when he died.

      HENDERSON TN     Glennie C. Eason, 93, homemaker, widow of R. Harmon Eason, died Saturday, Sept 13 1997 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a stroke. Services at Leon Johnson Funeral Home with burial in Sweet Lips Cemetery in Chester County. She was a member of Clarks Creek Primitive Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She leaves a half-sister, Juanita Harvey of Somerville, a grandchild, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Her only child, Hulon J Eason died 1959.

(Harmon Eason's 1/2 sister)   MARY RUTH McEWEN HOWELL January 11 1920 - December 24 2006   last residence, Jackson, Madison, TN, 38301.   SS # 410-22-3970.     Mary Ruth Howell Estate (and Joseph R. Thornton III) her property at 175 Bolivar Highway, Malesus, Madison Co, TN to Linda J. Kauffman in 2006 or 2007 for $89,900.   Mary's husband was GLOYCE E HOWELL Apr 25 1908 - Dec 29 1996

      JACKSON TN     Opal Flatt EASON, 82, homemaker, died of respiratory arrest Monday, Oct 13 1997, at West Tennessee Skilled Nursing Center. Services at George A Smith & Sons Funeral Home South Chapel with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bemis TN. Mrs. Eason, the widow of Raymond C. Eason, leaves two daughters, Linda Eason Thomason of Jackson and Carolyn Eason Wright of Morristown; a son, R. Gerald Eason of McNairy county; a brother, J. B. Duck of Jackson, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

      Reatie CAROTHERS EASON.     Services for Mrs Reatie Hester EASON, 91, widow of Ecbourne Cratis "EC" Eason, was held at Mars Hill Church of Christ at Leapwood TN with Tim Carothers and Danny Eubanks officiating. Mrs Eason died Nov 26 1989 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, Jackson TN after a short illness. She was born Jan 11 1898 at Leapwood TN, daughter of James Henry and Melissa Morris Carothers. She attended the Old Purdy School and Freed Hardeman College, taught in the McNairy County schools and later served as Post Master at Leapwood for thirty three years.   Mrs Eason leaves one daughter, Mrs Robert M Williams, Sr of Jackson, one sister, Mrs Ira Robison of Adamsville, one brother, Henry Carothers of Adamsville, seven grandsons and three great grandchildren. Two sons, Lt James A Eason and Dr John H Eason, Sr preceded her in death. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Dr Robert Williams, Jr of Atlanta GA, Dr Barton Williams of Memphis, Dr John Williams of Nashville, Henry Williams of Athens GA, Dr John Eason Jr of Memphis, Dr James Eason of San Antonio TX and Dr Drew Eason of Jackson.   Burial in Mars Hill Cemetery.

      SARDIS TN     Mrs Paris J. Eason, 86, died Saturday, April 17 1993, at Decatur County TN General Hospital. Services at Liberty Church of Christ with burial in Liberty Cemetery. Boyd Funeral Home in Scotts Hill TN. Mrs. Eason, the widow of Charlie Walter Eason, leaves a daughter, Brenda Hodge of Scotts Hill; four sons, Leon Eason of Sardis, Charles Eason of Saltillo TN, and Thomas Eason and Kenneth Eason, both of Scotts Hill, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

      LEXINGTON TN     Harold McEwen Eason, 68, retired employee of Lexington Metal Products, died Aug 26 1991 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a long illness. Services at Reed's Chapel with burial in Lexington Cemetery. He was a member of Judson Baptist Church. Mr Eason leaves three daughters, Linda Scott and Janet Hart, both of Lexington and Maxine Wooley of Pikeville; two sons, Bobby Eason of Lexington and Harold Eason of Rogers Ark, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

      Mr Riley Houston Eason, 86 of Memphis, Tennessee     Commercial Appeal, The (Memphis, TN) � Monday, July 6, 1992 LEXINGTON - Riley Houston Eason, 86, retired construction worker, died Saturday at Shelby County Nursing Home in Memphis after a long illness. Service at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington with burial in Independence Cemetery near here. Mr Eason, the widower of Dinzle Fuller Eason, leaves six daughters, Freddie Hardy and Carol Tyler, both of Lexington, Jeanette Swindle and Mary Looney, both of Southaven MS, Onida Phipps of Homeland CA, and Margaret Vandergrift of Memphis; three sons, Rudolph "Doc" Eason of Lexington, Gerald Eason of Southaven MS and John Eason of Jackson, and several grand children.   Riley H. He was given many names but he only used Francis Martin Van Buren "Boo" Eason. He signed his name F M Eason, but he was known as Dr Boo. The children, when small, could not pronounce Buren so he became �Boo�.     His wife is Sarah Elizabeth Duck.     Sons are John Armstead Eason and Jeffery Wiley Lafayette "Jay" Eason.   His daughter is Martha Ann Josephine Eason.     Sarah and Wiley are the children of John S Duck and Elizabeth Holmes.

      State of North Carolina - Chatham Co.     This day Andrew Peddy age eighty six years of age personally appeared before Mr George Luther an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the county. Who being first duly sworn according to law upon the oath _______ and sayeth that he was acquainted with Joshua ELKINS during the Revolutionary War and he further sayeth that he hired Joshua Elkins to serve on term in the militia for him in the year sixteen hundred and eighty one and that the said Elkins served three months for him under Captain Benjamin Black and he further sayeth that he known of Joshua ELKINS having served one other term of three months as a substitute for one of his brothers Norman William Elkins as well as he can ____ _______ and thanks he served under Capt John Ma_bry and further this despondent sayeth not sworn to and subscribed before me this 24th day of January 1843. ERICKSON - WHITE

      FRANK ERICKSON.
Frank Otto Erickson was born March 7 1847 in Sweden.   Frank married Lucinda PRINCE on March 6 1879 in Ashley Co Ark.
      In the 1880 Ashley Co Ark census ED 12, sheet 14, (p 172 B), Frank Erickson "keeps warehouse". His wife is Lucinda, age 34, born AL - no children shown.
      After Lucinda died Frank married Molly WHITE June 14 1883 in Ashley Co Ark.   As per the Frank O Erickson Bible Marie An Catherine "Molly" White was born May 20 1853. Frank was Swedish, therefore Marie instead of Mary and An instead of Ann.     In the 1890 Ashley Co Ark personal property tax index, Frank Erickson is shown in school district 1 with property valued at $525.   School district 1 was in the SW corner of Ashley Co.
On June 24 1891 Frank's address was Petersburg Post Office, Ashley Co Ark.   He lived 20 "English" miles from Crossett Ark.   Frank Erickson ran a two story - double log hotel that catered to people coming to the Sulphur Springs Health Resort.
      Frank Erickson died Jan 6 1894. Frank and two of his children, infant - Joseph Edward Erickson Oct 10 1892 and 10 year old Mary Ellen Erickson July 16 1884 - Dec 25 1895 are buried in Macedonia Cemetrery at Sulphur Springs, a health resort near Crossett Ark.   Frank's land was located in Section 9, township 19, South Range 9 West and it was sold to A. W. Byrd.

      After Frank Erickson died Mary "Molly" WHITE Erickson moved to Tenaha TX to be near relatives.     A sister, Margaret "Maggie" Wallace lived in Shelby Co TX.   (Maggie's daughter was May Wallace Tomlinson 1882 - 1959.)
      Ramah Cemetery, Tenaha, Shelby Co, Texas: Molly White Erickson May 20 1853 - June 30 1925; Lena Erickson Jan 15 1886 - Feb 9 1904. They are buried beside 3 Peddy.   In 1948 her son, John F Erickson lived at 825 Grandview St, Dallas TX.   Descendants that have researched this family were: Juanita Erickson Rush - deceased in 1995 (Mrs Joseph Rush)Boulder CO and her sister, Jean Erickson McCarter (Mrs William A McCarter) DallasTX.
      JUANITA Erickson RUSH born 16 May 1916   died Nov 1988   last benefits to (Boulder, Boulder, CO) 80302   SS # 461-16-7413 issued in Texas.
 
      When Andrew J Peddy, 1848 visited his siblings in Shelby Co TX he also visited Molly WHITE Erickson as she was a cousin.     I am still looking to prove the connection.     The Mother of Mary "Molly"White Erickson is most likely a PEDDY or

      Johnnie "Jean" Erickson McCarter, born October 7 1928 in Dallas, died Jan 19 2007 in convescelant care in Fort Worth TX.   She was the youngest daughter of John Franklin Erickson and Lilla Pearl Freeman Erickson.   She was a granddaughter of Frank Otto Erickson and Mary "Mollie" White Erickson.    Hopewell Cemetery    
      Johnnie �Jean� Erickson McCarter, 78, of Fort Worth TX died, Jan. 19, 2007, due to complications of Alzheimer�s disease at a care center in Fort Worth.     Funeral service was at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth. Graveside service at Hopewell Cemetery in Navarro County.     Jean born Oct 7 1928, in Dallas TX was the youngest daughter of John Franklin Erickson and Lilla Pearl Freeman Erickson.     Jean was a resident of Dallas for 72 years and a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.     She was an active member at White Rock United Methodist Church for many years, before moving to Fort Worth and joining Genesis United Methodist Church.     She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Juanita Rush, Mary Newsome and Rosalie Smith. This �pretty lady� is survived by her husband of 59 years, William �Archie� McCarter. They were married Dec. 6, 1947, in Dallas. Other survivors include her son, William Archie "Bill" McCarter Jr. and wife Paula of Austin; daughter, Lilla �Gayle� Lamers and husband Patrick of Fort Worth; son, Charles Frederick "Charlie" McCarter of Cardiff Calif; grandchildren, Rebecca and Rachel McCarter, Kacie and Joe Hunnicutt, Joshua McCarter, Jason Lamers and wife Kelli, April Lintz and husband Kevin, Brandon and Nathan Lamers; great grandchild, Chloe Lamers; three nephews and three nieces.

ERWIN
      William George Erwin
William George Erwin, age 60, died after a courageous fight with ALS (Lou Gehrig�s disease) in Austin, Texas.
Bill was born March 30, 1946 and passed away on Dec. 31, 2006. He graduating from Lamar High School, he attended Austin College and he graduated from the University of Texas in 1968. Shortly after college, Bill's career took him to Saudi Arabia where he completed a 25 year career with the Saudi oil company, Saudi Aramco.
At Saudi Aramco, Bill rose to the position of manager of computer applications.
Bill loved bridge. He began playing in high school, continued at Austin College, The University of Texas, and even in Saudi Arabia, he could be found frequently at the card table. He was a Life Master at the age of 16. Many of his most devoted friends came from bridge, some friendships spanning more than 42 years.
Bill was preceded in death by Grandparents Ada and Finley Ewing; Uncle Finley Ewing, and Great Aunt and Uncle Gertrude Peddy Cornwall and George Peddy. Bill is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carol; daughter Julie of Houston, Texas; step-son Eric and wife Karen Blue of Atlanta Georgia; his parents, Louise and Bill Erwin of Houston; his brother, Jimmy and wife Pam of Houston and their children, Will, Brittany and Robb, and brother, Dr. Randy Erwin and wife, Janet of Longview, Texas, and their children, Allison and husband Jon Meyers of Dallas, and Fin Erwin of Dallas. Also, James Kurka, Julie's fianc�.
