NotJustPiercys - Main Page

Introduction

This site has outline details of my grandchildrens' families, going back through the generations.

I have adapted Terry Reigel's approach to Sharing Your Data. This means that I have only included:

  • Births
  • Christenings
  • Marriages
  • Deaths
  • Burials

Just enough to confirm the identity of someone on the site, in fact.

If you have not already arrived at this site via a web search (Google, Yahoo, Bing, whatever), you can start searching now. Just go to the Surname or the Master Place index above. From there you can link through to the person or place you are looking for.

I have not included:

  • Sources for my information.
  • Interesting stories, portraits, and the sort of detail that changes a genealogy to a family history.

If you think that you have found a family connection, just contact me.

The data I send to fellow researchers will include source citations. I will also include as much as I know about the individuals' details and their stories, and any portraits and other illustrations I have.

Individual Identities

There may be several individuals in the database with the same name. In order to distinguish between them, each individual has a TMG ID Number. This is shown on the line below their name on the Person Page containing their details.

It would be helpful if you could quote this number in any enquiries about a particular individual or family line.

Places

Except where otherwise stated, all places are in the United Kingdom.

Privacy

As far as possible I have followed the principles of the Data Protection Acts and the National Genealogical Society's guidelines. Among others, this means that I have included no personal information on anyone I know is alive.

If you feel uncomfortable with any information on this web site, please let me know.

Sentences

The sentences on the Person pages have been generated by The Master Genealogist (TMG) software. This means that they may appear formal, stilted, and in some cases incorrectly constructed. Sorry about this. As I go I try to correct the incorrect constructions, but researching and analysing the data has been given priority over presentation.

"If many faultes in this booke you fynde
Yet think not the correctors blynde;
If Argos here hymselfe had beene
He should perchance not all have seene."
