The records of the Linck family stop here, as the church records in Heintersteinau go no farther back than 1596. However, the first Linck family members in the Schlüctern area are believed to be descended from Henn and Clas Linck, cousins from Freinesteinauer. Henn and Clas were permitted by Abbott Christian I of Schlüctern in 1473 to clear some land, at a place called Reynhartz. Before this, the Reinhards area was considered a wilderness, presumably forested. In 1480, other men were also permitted to build into these wild lands, but the two Linck cousins were considered the new founders of Reinhards.
