Legend
  • Family #1 - Arrived from England approx 1700 in the Virginian area. The family splits and the first portion moves to the Kentucky area (1780), then to Montana (1850). The second branch moved to Missouri (1820), Arkansas (1845), Louisiana (1850) and finally settled in Texas (1870).
  • Family #2 - Arrived from England approx 1760 in the Baltimore, Maryland area. The family moved to Ohio (1800). Here the family splits; the first branch moved to southern Iowa (1850) and eventually settled in Oregon (1900), the second branch moved into Illinos (1860), the third branch moved into South Dakota (1950).
  • Family #3 - Arrived in New York in 1760. The first branch moved into New York State, while the second branch moved to the Virginia area.
  • Family #4 - First appeared in North/South Carolina area in 1820. The family moved to the Alabama/Georgia area in 1920.
  • Family #5 - First appeared in the North/South Carolina area in 1810. The first branch moved into Georgia (1840) and the second branch moved to coastal South Carolina (1900)
  • Family #6 - First appeared in the Upper Michigan area in 1860. The family moved west to Minnesota around this same time.
  • Family #7 - Not identified on this map.
  • Family #8 - Arrived from England approx 1830 in the Montreal area. The family splits into 4 groups; the first branch moved to Illinois (1860), the second branch moved to Missouri (1870), the third branch moved to Wyoming (1875) and the last branch moved to west area of Canada (1900).
