Sourcing Our Roots-Porter, Peyton and Connecting Branches

Welcome to PorterPeytonRoots, a site designed to summarize the family history of the Porter's of western Kentucky, Peyton's of south central Mississippi, and their connecting branches. You will find genealogical information, totaling over twenty African American and Japanese families at this site. This site is historical and will feature information on our ancestral lines, rather than living family members. To simplify the presentation, I've chosen to use my paternal line; Porter and that of my husband; Peyton as the focus families and address the collateral families of each. I dedicate this site to the memory of my father, William E. Porter and father-in-law, Levern Peyton. Their spirits continue to guide and support us as we strive to maintain and enrich our great family legacies for present and future generations to understand, and from which we all draw strength.
