Porter Settlements

This newsletter has been in publication over nineteen years. The newsletter has steadily grown both in page number and in subscribers and is published quarterly in March, June, September, and December. Each issue contains 24 to 36 pages.

Some of the text is from the personal research of Nancy L. Childress. It also contains contributed information on many PORTER families.

What information you have may help another researcher whether it be from a Porter branch in England, Germany, Ireland, Australia, or wherever. When sending information for submission, pelase be sure to insert the source of your submission. Pictures, bible records, land records, church records and other items are accepted. Please be sure to put your name on the item. Some items may have to be edited to conform to the space available.

As a subscriber service, the newsletter has a section where you may have a query published. The query must pertain to PORTER and should be printed or typewritten.

Another subscriber service is the Surname Register. Each newsletter has a blank surname register form for completion. Upon receipt of the completed form, the information is keyed into the Surname Register. If another researcher is found to be working on your line, you will be notified of that person along with his/her address. Your completed surname register will be published in the newsletter along with your name and address, if you give permission to publish the form.
