SOME 20th CENTURY PORTUGUESE BUSINESSMEN IN TRINIDAD

This list of some Portuguese businessmen is a translation of an appendix to Jo-Anne's 1996 article "Do Atlântico às Antilhas: O Caso da Trinidad." That article was published by the Madeiran magazine Islenha.

The Islenha article is a revision and a translation of the author's article "The Portuguese of Trinidad," published in The Book of Trinidad. (It was translated into Portuguese by Miguel Vale de Almeida, author of "Ser Português na Trinidad: Etnicidade, Subjectividade e Poder," an article that appears in his recent book Um Mar da Cor da Terra: Raça, Cultura, e Política da Identidade.)
