Note: see dr. Ernst Kris bio or Biographies of Noted Psychoanalysts. Marianne, who Sigmund (see Freud family) called his "adopted daughter" and remained a lifetime friend, is the daughter of Oscar Rie, pediatrician to Freud's children and his friend. *see Marianne, "psychoanalyst" of Marilyn Monroe and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis OR click on book covers and see their available books OR Camden New Journal article; Blonde bombshell for the Anna Freud Centre funded by Marilyn Monroe: ".. But when Ms Kris died in 1980, her share was passed on to the Anna Freud Centre, which has since thrived on the generosity and the income generated by licensing deals connected with the Some Like It Hot star..."
Note: "...Why couldn’t one just have fun without being so intellectual? The only girl in my class whose cultural milieu resembled my own was Anna Kris, the daughter of Marianne (Rie) and Ernst Kris, both émigré psychoanalysts from Vienna. Unlike my parents, they were affluent, because analysts made a great deal of money in the postwar years. But the life style of the Drs. Kris (Ernst Kris was an art historian/analyst who had worked closely with Ernst Gombrich and my uncle Otto Kurz) was not quite my ideal either. One always had to enter their large apartment at 135 Central Park West by the service elevator and kitchen door so as not to disturb the patients seated in the waiting room near the front door. The large and airy rooms facing the park were consultation rooms, Anna and her brother Tony occupying the darkish back rooms. Marianne (Rie) Kris (who was to become Marilyn Monroe’s analyst!) never had a moment: between patients, she hurriedly popped into Anna’s room, to see what her daughter might need. She was plainly dressed and, for my taste, not sufficiently well coiffed or made up. And Ernst Kris presided over Anna’s Bildung with an iron hand: she had special afterschool tutorials in Latin and other subjects and was taken to museums for serious lessons in art history. I was happy that no such burdens were placed on me.." The Vienna Paradox: a Memoir by Dr. Marjorie Perloff
Note: see Newsletter of the Sigmund Freud Museum ISSN 1726-1937 (Internet) ".. The archive’s collection was enriched this autumn by a further gift from Anton O. Kris.
Additional materials from the papers and collections of Ernst Kris have been added to the

very special thanks to him and his sister Anna Kris Wolff... .. Anton O. Kris has donated a further inventory of items from his family’s possessions to the Sigmund Freud Museum. In addition to the publications and documents listed in the last
Newsletter, he has given the archive certificates, medallions and personal documents from Oscar Rie, drawings from Melanie Brody, copies of two letters from the correspondence
between Marie Bonaparte and Sigmund Freud, and the books and offprints listed below..." *see Method and Process by Anton O. Kris
