Building Foundations
This page attempts to document building foundations found in Prospect. Aerial maps have been provided to show the approximate location of each foundation as many of them can be hard to find. Images of each foundation can be viewed by clicking on the house icons. It should be noted that the foundation images don't quite capture the character of the foundations and they are much more interesting in person.
Kelly Point
The Kelly Point area yields a surprising number of building foundations. Most of them are in fairly good shape considering they are roughly 150 years old.
Indian Point Road
There are many foundations along the route of Indian Point Road; unfortunately some are hard to find. In particular the Beck, Scantling, and both McGrath foundations have essentially disappeared. On the other hand the Mullins, Mien, and Welch foundations are hard to miss. In fact if you're searching for the Mullins foundation make sure you're careful; it's about five feet to the bottom.
