Percival "Perse" Beck and George Coolen Sr.
This picture was taken in 1951 at the wedding of Weldon Coolen (to Kathleen Doherty) who was George's second eldest son. Percival Beck was Kathleen Doherty's uncle. George Coolen Sr. was born on 22 April 1903 and died on 22 March 1972 . He was the son of John Clement Coolen and Clarise Merlin. Percival Beck was the son of Thomas Beck and Clemence Christian. He was born 8 April 1906 and died 24 April 1982 . Contributed by Kathleen Coolen.
Everett "Tud" Christian, Joseph Doherty and Lou White
Everett Christian was known around the village as Tud. He was the son of Patrick W. Christian and Susan Johnson and was born 15 January 1880 . Joseph Doherty was the son of Peter Doherty and Mary Anne Fawson. He was born 3 November 1861 and died on 21 February 1837 . Lou White was the son of Joseph White and Ellen Hardiman. He was born in 1889 and died on 16 October 1872 . Contributed by Kathleen Coolen.
Billy Smith
William (or Billy) Smith he was born in 1858. Billy was the oldest person to live in Prospect. He died in 1959 at the age of 101. When the church received a bell he was in charge of ringing it and he rang the bell everyday until he died. Contributed by Kathleen Coolen.

Jack "Old Spike" Shea, Hattie Shea, Charlie "Wee wee" Christian and Olive Christian?
Charlie "Wee wee" Christian was the son of N.P. Christian and Margaret McGuire. He was born on 7 May 1875 and died in 1949. He married Elizabeth Regina Noonan, daughter of Dennis Noonan and Johanna Duggan. Olive Christian is their daughter. Contributed by Kathleen Coolen.
Marian Beck, William Beck and Josephine Christian
Marian was born in 1908 and William was born in 1904. They were the children of Thomas Beck and Clemence Christian. Josephine Christian was the daughter of Ann Coolen and Louis Christian. Contributed by Kathleen Coolen.

This is a photo of seven people. It is not known who is who, but here are the people in the picture: Ned Barry and his wife Dot Barry, Charles Christian and his wife Mary Ann Benning, Duncan Christian and Gerald (?) and his wife Alice. Contributed by Louise Christian.
Garfield Noonan, Al Duggan and Olive Duggan
Garfield Noonan was the son of Dennis Noonan and Johanna Duggan. Garfield died in 1926. Alfred Duggan was born in 1885 and died in 1935. Olive Duggan was born Olive Christian and is the daughter of Charles Christian and Mary Ann Benning. She was born on 6 May 1891 , and died in 1972. Olive married Joseph Ball after the death of Alfred Duggan. Contributed by Olive (Christian) Ryan.
Edmund Morris and the People of Prospect
This is a picture of MLA Edmund Morris sometime in the 1950s. This picture was in the newspapers, and it shows Mr. Morris surrounded by the fishermen and women of Prospect. May (Christian) Drysdale and Frances (Hardiman) Duggan
May Christian d/o Charles D Christian (1867 to 1954) and Mary Ellen Reyno (1873 to 1947), and Frances Hardiman (1905 to 1985) d/o James H. Hardiman (1855 to ?) and Ellen Knickle (1864 to ?). Frances married George Richard Duggan (1894 to 1976) s/o Michael Duggan (1852 to 1916) and Mary Merlin (1955 to 1933). Contributed by Michael Duggan, son of Frances.
Mary (Merlin) Duggan and others
Mary Merlin was born 6 March 1855 and was the daughter of Daniel Merlin (1815 to ?) and Amelia Emma Murphy (1816 to ?). She married Michael Duggan (1852 to 1916) s/o John Duggan (1829 to ?) and Bridget Moran (1826 to 1872). They were married in Prospect on 22 July 1873 and had 13 children. The other people in the picture are: John Rogers (left) was the husband of Ada Duggan who was the granddaughter of Mary (Merlin) Duggan. The woman next to Mary is Rita Rogers Smith, and the man behind Mary is her huband Bill Smith. Contributed by Michael Duggan. (grandson).
Ella (Knickle) Hardiman, Kate (Coppin) Hardiman, Bess Hardiman, Dot Christian
Ella (Knickle) Hardiman (sitting in chair) was born 30 March 1864 . She married James H. Hardiman (1855) on 30 April 1895 in Prospect. Kate Coppin (standing left) was the d/o David Coppin and Elizabeth McGuire. She was born 7 March 1870 and married James O. Hardiman. Bess Hardiman (sitting on ground) was her daughter. Dot Christian (standing right) was the daughter of James H. Hardiman and Ella Knickle. She married Herbert John Christian.
Ella (Knickle) Hardiman and Catherine (Merlin) Kiley
Catherine Merlin was the d/o Jerome Merlin (1825 to aft 1901) and Elizabeth Coolen (1829 to aft 1901). She was born 15 April 1853 , and died 8 February 1930 . Catherine married John Kiley (1851 to 1928) and they had eight children. Contributed by Michael Duggan.
Bun Duggan, Dick Duggan, and James Hardiman
Back row (left to right): unknown; Bun Duggan's real name was James Albert Duggan. He was born 25 March 1891 and was the s/o Michael Duggan and Mary Merlin (see above information). Front row (left to right): James Hardiman was born on 15 July 1855 , and was the s/o Thomas Hardiman and Dorcas Christian. His daughter Frances married Dick Duggan (far left), who was the s/o Michael Duggan and Mary Merlin. Contributed by Michael Duggan (son of Dick Duggan).
Sister Anne Maria Barber
Sister Anne Maria was born Mary Barber on 17 March 1864 . She was the daughter of James Matthew Barber and Mary Anne Power. She grew up in Prospect and was taught by the Sisters of Charity who opened their convent in Prospect in 1876. On 20 August 1892 she joined the Sisters of Charity and became Sister Anne Maria Barber. She was the art teacher at the Mount from 1892 until 1928 with the exception of one year when she studied in Italy. Sister painted many pictures that hung in the Mount as well as designed all the stained glass windows for the building. Sister Anne Maria is also responsible for the design of the habit that the Sisters of Charity wore. They changed the design of their habit from the black cap to a coif and veil. Sister Anne Maria died at the age of 93 years on 5 December 1957 at St. Mary's Convent in Halifax. Anna Maria is the nun on the left of the picture. Contributed by a great-niece Anna Maria Barber.
Rita (Scott) Kiley, Alice (Dundan) Kiley, Helen (McDonald) Duggan
This picture shows the wives of Carl and Victor Kiley and St. Clare Duggan. Carl, Victor and St. Clare were all first cousins as their mothers were sisters. Rita Scott married Carl Kiley, Alice Dundan married Victor Kiley and Helen McDonald married St. Clare Duggan. Contributed by Bernard Duggan.
