* See will of John Patterson describing the cemetery. "1st: I give my soul to God who gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian manner at the discretion of my wife and relations. I leave my Executrix and my executors Five Thousand dollars to be expended in building a suitable monument and in beautifying one half acre of ground around my grave. My grave being the center of the circle around my grave. I wish to be buried near what is called the Buffalo Spring in my grass lot. My wife knows the place."
