John Wesley Johnson was born in Maury Co., Tn. on 16 September 1836 and died in Hardin Co., Tn.  His tombstone is inscribed with a 26 January, 1910 death date, but his death certificate has 23 February 1910. John Wesley's parents died prior to 1850 as he was residing in Lewis County, TN. with Nancy Rose, the Aunt of his future wife.  The census listed his age as 11 years old.  Below is a photo that is thought to be the parents of John Wesley Johnson.

John Wesley married Mary A. F. Leigh, daughter of Ewell Leigh and Elizabeth Stubbins, on 14 November 1855 in Maury County, Columbia, Tennessee.  Mary was born on 20 February 1830 in Orange County, NC and died 20 February 1916 in Hardin County, Tennessee.

John William Lee born 30 March 1852, in Lewis Co.,  Tn.; died 23 Apr. 1935 in Waterloo, Lauderdale Co., AL.  Buried in Waterloo, AL.  Married Nancy Jane Seaton, (born 10 January 1860 in Savannah, Hardin Co., Tn.; died 4 September 1944 in Florence, AL) 1873 in Savannah, Hardin Co., Tn.  John Wesley Johnson was stepfather to Dr. & Rev. John William Lee.  His natural father is unknown.

3. James Wesley Johnson born 8 March 1859 in Lewis Co., Tn.; died 17 June 1934 in Hardin County, Tn.  Buried in Piney Grove, Hardin Co., Tn.  Married Elizabeth Jane Qualls (5 July 1855 - 14 March 1894) in Hardin Co., Tn. on 1 February 1882.

6. George Mitchell Johnson born 18 April 1865 in Streator, La Salle, Illinois; died 9 October 1951 in Memphis, Shelby, Tn.  Buried in Oak Hill Cem, Yalobusha, Water Valley, Mississippi. George Mitchell Johnson married Mattie Haynes in 1885, Savannah, Hardin Co., Tn.  Mattie was born in 1871 in Olive Hill, Hardin Co., Tennessee; died 1889 in Olive Hill, Hardin Co., Tennessee.  He married Martha Elizabeth Qualls on 27 Jul 1890 in Savannah, Hardin Co., Tn.  His third wife was Anna Thompson whom he married on 3 August 1907 in Clarendon, Monroe Co., Arkansas.  They had no children.  Callie Lue Leona Putman was his fourth wife.  They married on 14 November 1909 in Pine Bluff, Jefferson Co., Arkansas.  She was born on 11 August 1892 in French Camp, Choctaw, Mississippi , died 12 May 1973 in Holly Springs, Marshall, Mississippi, buried Oak Hill Cem., Yalobusha, Water Valley, Mississippi.
