Subject: Would like to find out the history of my family. - I was born in Boston, Mass. on August 29, 1956. My fathers name is Charles Edward Steele Sr.

Subject: Nathan (or Matthew) Steel - Looking for info on a Nathan (or Matthew) Steel, born est. 1790-1820 in Pennsylvania. He married Margaret Erskine (b. abt. 1821 in Chester Co., PA, d. bef. 1891). They had two children: Isaac Perry (b. Sept 19, 1849 in PA, d. June 19, 1909 in Chillicothe OH) and Margaret. I do not know whether Nathan (Matthew?) moved to Ohio with his son. Have further info on descendants of Isaac.

Subject: Crit Henry Steele - My grandfathers name was Crit Henry Steele. He lived in Ohio. Has anyone heard of him? He had several wives; Pearl, Elizabeth. I always thought Crit was a different name but now that I see a lot of the Steele's come from "Crist" I wonder if there is a connection. Crit had four sons: James, Jean, John, and Chester and several daughters.

Subject: Descendants of Reuben Steel/e (Scotland) - Hi....my mother was Mary Bainbridge Steele, daughter of Eleanor Moore and Craig Gillis Steele. She had 2 sisters (Elizabeth and Eleanor) and 1 brother, Clarence. In the DAR Library in DC, we found that this line descended from (Scotland)Reuben Steel(e)and the Revolutionary Soldier was his son, Robert. Their grandfather was Samuel Green(e) Steele. I have all the other information if anyone is interested...I certainly am (: Dial me up!!!!

Subject: Steele genealogy - My father did a lot of research in NY Public Library-Great Source. Our Steeles go back from Elizabeth who married a Gillette in 1758 to Samual Steele who married Mercy Bradford, Granddaughter of Gov. Wm Bradford, of the Mayflower colony.

Charles E. Steele - I have a great grandad Charles E. Steele,Nickname "Crackey".Born in Monongalia Co.WV in 1867 married Lucy J.Brooks b 1870 in Buchannon, WV.
