Subject: Searching for Steeles - I am fairly new to family treemaking, and have hit a wall early. Here is a summary of what I have:
My father Buckley D. Steele b.1928
Grandfather Theodore A. Steele, b. 1905 in Wisconsin, d.1995 Illinois
GGrandfather Frank L. Steele b. ? Wisconsin d.?
GGrandmother Lima Minerva Miller Steele b. 1881 Wisc.
Lima's parents were Charles B. Miller, b. 1837 in Willoughby Ohio, d. 1925 in Wis. and Emily M.Miller(nee Steele!) b. 1845 in Willoughby Ohio, d. 1913 in Wisconsin.
I have visited the "Steele" cemetery in Crawford Co. Wisconsin, and am not sure of relationship of most of these Steeles. Some names are Chauncey, Rebekka, Mortimer, Clarence, Oscar, and Timothy. My grandfather was born in this area, and I did recognize one of the graves as his sister (Blanche).
Does anyone have a connection or information? I would appreciate any help!

Subject: Steel/Steele of Amite Co. MS - Harper Buchannon Steel was b. 1812 in Amite Co. MS. I believe his father was Archibald Buchannon Steel and mother unknown? Archibald B. Steel m. Lavioca Lusk in 1816. The birth of H. B. Steel and that of his daughter, Mary Matilda Caroline Steel b. 1842, were listed in the Samuel and Elizabeth Whitesides Lusk (parents of Lavioca) family bible with no explanition as to why or what the relationship to the Lusk family was. I have many questions about this Steel family?
Please help me to find the answers.

Subject: Ellen Steele, East St. Louis, Ill. - I am looking for an Ellen Steele that was in East St. Louis, Illinois in 1921. She gave birth to my grandfather there and gave him up for adoption. If anyone has an Ellen Steele that might fit this time period please let me know.

Subject: Mercer Co., WV Steeles - Tom, thank you for all the work you've put into your websites. I check the postings daily. I have yet to see anyone working on my line, though. I did answer roll call, so hopefully someone will have a connection. My Steele's come from Mercer and Monroe counties, with some migrating to Boone county. I'm clear out here in Mesa, AZ and am dying to make a trip out there and check out the archives, courthouses, cemeteries, etc.. (For now I rely on the FHC, copies from Salt Lake, and the internet.) My ggrandfather's (Quintus Terry Steele's) oldest brother was named John Wesley Steele b. 1884 in Pulaski co., VA. Their father was named William Luther Steele b. 1858 in Mercer co. Do you know if perhaps your father was named after a gguncle? Please let me know if you have run into my line in any of your research?

Subject: Seeking info on Joe "Joseph" Steele - Seeking information on my gg grandfather Joe "Joseph" Steele. Possibly married to "Sally Ann". Beleived to have come from KY into southern IL. Might have been a carpenter around Harrisburg, IL during the mid-1800s. May have worked at a barrel stave/wood handle factory in southern Missouri or northern Arkansas. Father of Macklister Steele(dates unknown) who lived in Arkansas, Missouri, and possibly Illinois. Macklister died on a trip to visit family in South Carolina. I would appreciate any help you can offer.

Subject: Steele family in New York - Looking for any information of the Steele families in Tompkins County, NY in the early 1800s. Names include William and Norman, who were likely brothers. Both were living in the Town of Hector, Tompkins county, although today this is in Schuyler county. Children of one or the other included Andrew, born about 1824, and Minerva, born 1826. Subject: Samuel Steele b 1709 Dubin Co. Lancaster,Pa. - Seeking info on Samuel Steele b 1709 Dubin Co. Lancaster,Pa. Died 30 Jan 1790 Augusta Co. Va. he is buried in the Old Providence Churchyard, Rockbridge, Va. the father of 12 children one of whom my line descends. His daughter Elizaeth Janett Steele married Peter Alexander. Subject: Samuel Steel - I have hit a brick wall. I am looking for any information on Samuel Steele. He was born 1800 and died 1862. He was married to Sarah Collins. They may have lived in Hamilton County Ohio. They had a daughter Catherine Steele who married John Rogers in St. Charles MO. in 1859.
