Subject: Steele's of Ontario, Canada - I am seeking any information regarding the Steele's of the Niagara Penninsula. They settled around Fort Erie, Ontario Canada. Although a number lived there, I only know of my great grandmother, Lauretta Steele (1860-1939). She married Benjamin Sherk (1855-1932) and had four children. James married Elizabeth McMaster 1771, 2nd wife Elizabeth Donaldson 1784.

They had Three children, J.N. Steele, Lucy Craig Steele, and W.D.G. Steele. Robert married his second wife Alice M. Craig 24May 1867 in Albia, Ia They had Six Children, Mary Allie Steele, Robert Emuit Steele, Terassa Elnora Steele,Anthony James Steele,Lucy Craig Steele, and Minnie Amanda Steele. Subject: Samuel Steele, born in 1794 in KY - I am trying to trace back from my husband's gggrandfather, Samuel Steele. Samuel was born in 1794 in KY. He married Sarah Porter in OH in 1821. They had five children, born in OH and IN. The family eventually settled in Caldwell County MO.
Any help on getting back farther than Samuel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Subject: Judge Steele from California - I am looking for my g-mothers father. All I know is that he was a judge from CA., and his last name was steele. He had a daughter named francis[my g-mother] who married a bauer. Judge Steeles picture was in the capital building in Sacramento years ago. Subject: Riley and Elizebeth Steele - I was just looking around the net for information that might help me identify ancestors related to Riley and Elizebeth Steele. No idea when Riley died but Elizabeth died 1951-53 at the age of 104. Her maiden name was Peters and her fathers name was Hiram and we think that her mother's name was also Elizabeth.

My fathers name is Joseph Dennis Steele. His Father is John Steele and resides in Troy, New York. My grandfathers father was also a John Steele and so was his father. The last John Steele I believe lived on the out skirts of Glasgow, Scotland in a little town called Kilkerny (I think the spelling is wrong.) This John Steele was a published poet. Subject: Mabel Steele married William Kaiser in Cortland NY in 1916 - My GG grandfather married a woman Mabel H Steele in Cortland on March 11, 1916. They moved to Long Island where William died. Soon after, Mabel I believe was put in a mental institution. They had one son, William Woodrow Wilson Kaiser, who went to live with his Grandparents, William and Mary Alice Claire Kaiser in Cortland. I am looking for any information on Mabel Steele. Burlinghames may be related somehow, but I am not positive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
