These four participants are relatives or descendants of the early Thomas RINEY lineage of St. Mary’s Co. MD who migrated to Washington Co. KY and descendants migrated to Daviess and Martin Co. IN. The surname spellings alternated between RINEY, RANEY, and RENEY. Most of these participants have extended their tests and are matching the 67 markers.

Washington Co. KY:
Test kits 13308 and 74776 trace their lineage to Richard RINEY Sr. of Marion Co. and Washington Co. KY. He came to that area ca 1796-1800 and is probably a descendant of the RINEY clan of St. Mary’s Co. MD that came to the Washington Co. KY area. His son Richard RINEY Jr. was b 1828, mar Margaret Eleanor Hamilton after 1850 and died in 1857. They had four children: (1) Richard Leonard RANEY, (2) Harriet RANEY, (3) Annie RANEY, and (4) ? On his tombstone his name is spelled RENEY and the two daughters changed their spellings to RAINEY.
