I have discovered that my great great grandfather, John Vanderstaay, was a Union sympathizer in Missouri during the Civil War. He was in a Missouri Militia. I have no other information concerning this.
I've add a new list of German genealogical terms and the English translations on my "Miscellaneous" page.
My mother, Joyce Schad, passed away on the morning of 28DEC2004.
I have finally made it to Columbus, Nebraska to get photos of the Civil War monument and I am in the process of adding them to the photo album.
I have purchased a book on the Matthew Watson and Mary Orr family on a CD. I will be putting more information on this website as soon as I learn of it from the CD. I found a copy of the CD on ebay.
I have just added an index on the homepage to the photo album. I hope this will help people looking for specific individuals.
On 16NOV2003, it was 100 years to the day that Peter Schad, Sr. died in Lindsay, Nebraska.
I am adding a list of social security numbers of my deceased ancestors.
I have now added photo copies of Peter Schad's pension papers. Go to the "Photo Album". They are pages 19 through 37. I will be adding information about each photo in my album as time permits.
My next big trips will be to 1. Little Rock National Cemetery, Little Rock, Arkansas, 2. Crawford County, Arkansas and LeFlore County, Oklahoma 3. St. Nazianz, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. St. Nazianz, Wisconsin is where my great great grandfather, Peter Schad, settled when he came to America. 4. Atchison, Kansas and Weston, Missouri. I don't know when my trips will be but it will be at least two years away.

There is a monument in Columbus, Nebraska dedicated to all the Civil War soldiers buried in Platte County, Nebraska. Peter Schad(my great great grandfather) is listed on the monument.
